Several of you asked about the Fire Ant killer I used, it's a simple mixture of lemon juice and vinegar poured over the ant mound. It's all natural and has worked well for us. I poured about 2 cups total over the large mound we had. Hope it helps!
Hi Guys, Don't have fire ants in my part of the country but am saving this remedy to try on carpenter ants and other ants if they present a problem for me. Dang, that stuff works fast. Thanks for sharing. M

Thank you! We have a terrible time with fire ants. I can't garden without 5 or 6 bites a day (whose garden is it anyway). I made up my mind I needed to take my garden beds back, especially the okra which the ants infested last summer. This is a definite must try.
ReplyDeleteTry club soda around your vegetables. I've read the carbon dioxide displaces the oxygen and suffocates them. Hopefully it will work without harming the plants like vinegar could.

ReplyDeleteIt worked for us, it's my go to fire ant killer. I use it on mounds away from the garden because I don't want the vinegar to kill any garden plants but yep, it's worked for us.
