PICNIC TABLE UNDER TREE, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Picnic table dinner, image courtesy of owllist.com.br
OK...this picture pushed us over the edge to a picnic table for the tree area.  We've been on the fence, but after the image I posted a few Thursdays back, which I thought made us sure, I found this one and now we're DEFINITELY sure.

Now granted, this is a different style of picnic table, but it's less about the design and more about knowing that a picnic table can be decorated nicely for dinner.  Plus they don't need chairs!  I did have a random thought that we could put a chair at each end for us, 'the hosts', when we do finally have that big dinner.  Until then it can just be us and we can practice decorating the table, ha.

Be inspired!

  1. Very nice setting. That table, however, does not look strong enough for six people! LOVE the lights!

    1. LOL, I never thought about that. I guess since we'll be getting a regularly picnic table, we should be good, ha. Aren't the lights awesome? I have to figure that part out. There is no nearby electric but I could run a cord through some pvc buried underground.

  2. Picnic table is a very good idea. Fairly cheap too. Don't let everyone sit down on one side first though!

    1. Yeah, that's what we figured too (about the price). I think we might do two end to end...there is enough space under the tree. Never thought about sitting down, ha. I might have to anchor it, LOL.

  3. My main table in the yard is a picnic table. While it is not my first choice of table and seating, as you pointed out, there is no need for chairs. I do have tables and chairs, but the picnic table is always there, seating in place, never needs moving for mowing. I am fascinated by the lighting.

    1. Cool, I won't have to worry about mowing in this area where it will be too. I might stain it to give it some character. After I get the garden ready for spring, that's the next project. Isn't the lighting awesome? I need to figure out something for lighting.

  7. I had the link below the photo for one website, they said the original was from another site that is now gone. There was no copyright listed and no watermark or property of, but I know that can be left off sometimes. It's also been all over Pinterest for awhile from other blogs so I'm not sure where the original source is from.
