Chicken and alfredo pasta |
Got a lot done at the farm but, to use the lingo of the younger generation, OMG was it hot! I think the "feels like" was 109 degrees. And it's only going to get hotter over the next few days.
I will have updates tomorrow (or Monday) but I just thought I'd check in. I came home to a wonderful dinner of roasted chicken with a side of buccatini alfredo (a pasta with a hole down the center). We also had a bottle of Alberino from Spain (a white wine). I think I had a glass or three...
And now it's NASCAR night racing, a great way to end the day! Not sure if I'll go to the farm tomorrow. it's just SO oppressively hot and I did get most everything done I had planned, except mowing. It didn't really need it, so I might go, I might not. We'll see how I feel when I get up...whatever time that might be, ha!
Hope you are having a great weekend!
I must say, you come home to the Best, delicious looking meals.
ReplyDelete2nd man knows when you are at the farm working that you work up an appetite. It's even making me hungry at the moment.
HOT it was for sure today. How hot was it you ask; 'it was soooooooooo hot we could had used our mailbox as a toaster oven.' :}
Have a great evening and enjoy the races.
Thanks! I love the toaster oven comment, SO true. And yep, I'm lucky. :-)
DeleteUM, YES!!!!! NASCAR fan here too, and of course i like to eat too. So you had fabulousness on both aspects.
ReplyDeleteDon't overdo this weekend, enjoy your time off and stay inside where it's cool.
Thanks, we stayed inside where it was nice and cool. NASCAR is fun and yep we love to eat too, ha.
DeleteI hope you carry water when you and hydrate yourself with often sips. It is so hot here, but the low humidity has made it bearable. Dominique cooled down with a watermelon today.
ReplyDeleteYes. lots of water. The humidity does make things SO much worse. I love watermelon!!

Thanks sweet lady. Bucatini is like thick spaghetti but it's a hollow tube, it has a hole running down the middle. SO yummy. Of course I like ANY pasta.

YAYZ for 2nd man and his dee-lish dinners (and wine)!
ReplyDeleteThanks, we love our weekend once a week bottle of wine. Just enough to relax you after a long day.
DeleteThat chicken and pasta looks sooo good. 2nd Man sure knows to have a scrumptious meal!
ReplyDeleteCorrection: 2nd Man sure knows HOW to make a scrumptious meal. (I think the heat is frying my brain a little - or a lot!).
DeleteLOL, thank you. He loves to cook and who am I to complain? HA! Stay cool!!
DeleteDinner looks good, but now I'll throw in a word from your mother ... Where's the veggies on that plate?! No dessert if you don't eat your vegetables! (That was my mother ...)
ReplyDeleteHA! Do you know he put the plates down and went "there is nothing green on there!" It's ok though I was so full I wouldn't have had room. I promise we had veggies the next day for sure. :-)
Delete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteI raise my glass to you and 2nd Man on a mighty fine meal and a great wine from Spain. Enjoy!!!
And we raise out glasses right back to you! Thank you sweet lady!!
