Received a text from 2nd Family that said...
"Sooooooo...THIS happened!"
Ducklings!!!!
She said Mama has been staying under the house and rarely came out. Then yesterday she walked out with TEN babies following along behind her.
They have made them a cozy home in their chicken coop (it's covered and protected from predators) so they are safe and getting lots of attention. She said they are so stinkin' cute she just can't stand it, ha.
Was hoping we'd get to see them this weekend but things are not looking good for our weekend weather.
The little ducklings are so darn adorable.
ReplyDeleteTractor supply had some baby chicks and ducklings for awhile but since, they have all sold out.
We have baby cardinals in our back yard shrub; right outside our dining room window. Every once in awhile you will hear the male cardinal bang up against the window; ( I think it sees it's reflection thinking it's another cardinal trying to invade it's territory.)
It has been pouring down rain here since 5AM. and no signs of it letting up anytime soon.
Yesterday we received 1 1/2 inches and the other day; 2 inches & yes, we do have water standing out in the yard; having a few water puddles here and there and our ditch is full, all the way up to the edge of the road. Really puts a damper for working outside but blessed that we are receiving rain cause later on we may not get any. At least with the rain it gives me a chance to do this inside that I have been putting off.
Take care, stay safe & stay dry.
Received yet another inch of rain yesterday. Cloudy and looks like we will receive yet more showers again today and yet more in the forecast for next week
DeleteI was at TS a year or so ago and they had the little set up in there with the babies they were so adorable. Hope you guys stay safe in the rain. Good time to stay inside and just rest and relax. There will be plenty of time for hard work outside all summer, ha.
DeleteDUCKIES!
ReplyDeletesunny and blue skies here, BUT we are having high winds today - up to 60 mph. our recycle can has tipped over in the breeze, but there is nothing in the can since collection day was yesterday. good thing cause I don't feel like running all over the yard collecting tossed recyclable materials!
60mph? Dang! Girl don't blow away ha. Stay safe!!
DeleteThose little ducklings are sooo cute! I know you can’t wait to see them in person.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I’ve received about 2 inches of good slow rain, no flooding or strong wind. Just what all the plants, trees, and garden needed.
We can't wait. I love the noise they make too. The rain has been nice, if not inconvenient, ha.
DeleteSo cute! Hmmm, two little yellow ones? I am glad they have a safe place to stay. But, if they have a dog, probably no predators will harm them. But, I would want them safe in the chicken pen. Stay safe in all the inclement weather. The little duckies will like a bit of rain.
ReplyDeleteYou're right I didn't notice that. Too cute! They have some very protective dogs but yeah for awhile they'll leave them in the chicken coop to be safe. Thanks, the weather was story but not terrible.
DeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteWe can't WAIT to see them in person. So cute for sure!!!
DeleteMany years ago we had ducks. And, while I always picked up the eggs, the female found a hiding place and one day out popped a bunch of duckies! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI think that's what happened with them. They always got them and then missed a batch and surprise! Ha.
DeleteSqueeeeeee!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
