GOOD FOOD AND KITTY CAT SUNDAY

Another week has flown by.  And of course, it rained.  Again.  And again.  And now it's too wet to mow.  Ugh.  So I did other things but we still had time for some good food.

2nd man made some healthy shrimp pasta.  This was simple, shrimp with some olive oil and pasta water mixed with fresh lemon juice and zest.  We used whole wheat pasta as well.  Then we topped it with some fresh basil.  Of course, we had a salad first and I made some more of those whole fruit margaritas.  It was a great way to end a Saturday.

And speaking of a wonderful way to end a Saturday...

Here is Babygirl taking her post dinner bath on the front porch.  She's such a sweet little thing.  We'll soon be taking her to be spayed.  She won't like that process at first but it will ensure she is able to live a long and peaceful life out here.

  2. That plate looks so good. I did not cook today but ate junk food, now I am sorry. I do slip up at times but think I deserve it at 81.

    1. Hey, we all deserve to slip up every once in awhile, and yes, there is a rule that I think 80+ can do whatever your heart desires! :-)

    1. She is adapting well. Still a little skittish of sudden movements but getting better.

  4. How do you know she is not someone's cat? We have lots of cats around here that look like strays and act like strays and it is just irresponsible neighbors letting their cat use our yard as their litter box.

    1. The property across the street from us is 50 acres of cattle. The property behind us is literally 175 acres of cattle and they live about 2 miles away. We know them, no cats. The neighbors on the left are about 10 acres away they just have dogs. On the right of us is a vacant property of about 5 acres and on the other side of that, we have met the people and no current cats, though they did say that a female had a litter in their barn last Summer. But she disappeared and the kittens were feral. She would fit the age/timeline of being one of those kittens. We did have her scanned by a mobile vet for a chip and none. The vet said she was about 6 months old and when she first came around here, it was January, that would fit the timeline of the litter of kittens.

  5. I guess before spaying they'll determine if she's already pregnant or not. With all the views of Babygirl being outside I take it she's not going to be an inside cat at all.

    1. yes, we haven't seen any males around here other than Jack and he's been fixed (his ear is clipped) but yeah, we'll make sure about that.
