Here is the latest update on Seda, the FFA pig we sponsored for our friend's son. Above is Seda going for one of his daily walks with T hot on his hooves. He's an obedient little guy, and never strays from the path.
He's progressing right on track and while I don't have his measurements this week, we do know his weight. The little piggy now weighs 87 lbs! I love the picture below, because he's so pink. I never realized that they really were pink little things, just like you imagine, except for his blue butt of course, LOL.
Must. Not. Get. Attached.
I would think that it is indeed pretty important to not get attached, but oh so difficult. Just remember it will be more difficult still if you do become attached. X
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! It's a little easier for me since I don't seem him daily, but still....
DeleteI was amazed the first time I saw how pink pigs were too. It's such a soft shade of pink just like you'd see on a drawing or something.
ReplyDeleteHe is so pink that's for sure. Seems like he gets pinker each time we see him, ha.
DeleteIt's always hard not getting attached, I'm the same way. :)
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand now! ;-)
Deleteawwww...he is a handsome fella. I would totally get attached :-(
ReplyDeleteHe is kinda handsome huh? trying to resist attachment.
DeleteI too would get 100% attached. I would not be able to help myself.
ReplyDeleteThat is why when we get our land we will only be having a cow.
And maybe a sheep or two to keep the grass down.
Oh, and a rescue donkey,
some chickens,
perhaps even a goat . . .
I'm pretty sure we'll be the same way. Only chickens for eggs. And a milk cow. ;-)
DeleteI like the rescue donkey idea!
He is a nice looking pig, but look at those hams!
ReplyDeleteLOL! They DO look delicious, ha.
DeleteOh he is so gorgeous! I too, would be unable to resist! Like Kirk, when we got our land we vowed to only get in 4 chickens. The sheep, geese, cow, ducks, pigs, goats just kinda happened.... *winks* Give it up as a lost cause, once attached.. resistance is futile! Lol
ReplyDeleteHa, you sound like us. I told 2nd Man that someday I'd like to have 6 chickens. And that's all. So you're telling me it's just like the borg huh? LOL! ;-)
Delete1st Man - i am so sorry for being so behind in all of your latest blog posts but i promise that i have read them all and caught up!
ReplyDeletethat Seda is one gorgeous pig! and i have read several homesteader blogs and some of them allow themselves to get very attached, but always knowing that the animal is either going to be sold or become food. i like that approach! thanks for these Seda updates! all our warmest to you and 2nd Man!
your friend,
kymber
Oh sweet lady, don't worry at all. I'm just glad to know all is well. I don't know that I could get attached that much knowing the end result, ha. We may end up with some pets someday we didn't plan on, ha. We'll see I suppose.
DeleteSeda is a pretty pig (are pigs pretty? Handsome? attractive? LOL!)
Missed ya both!
