MORE blueberries!
Went out the long weekend and there were more ripe blueberries. You can see there are yet even more in various stages of ripening. Woo hoo!
Not a bad harvest yet again and I will confess to eating a handful on the drive back into town, ha. These bushes (we have two) are the Austin variety and from what we've read, once established, a mature bush can produces much as TWENTY FIVE POUNDS of berries!

You can always dry freeze or do some canning of your over abundance of berries.
ReplyDeleteMake up some blueberry sauce to put over ice cream.
Dehydrate them for snacks.
Fill up some ice cube trays with fruit and juice or fruit and water. Stick in the freezer until fully frozen.
Make a cobbler, a coffee cake or cheesecake or a tart
Make you up some Popcycles
Make up some muffins
Put some in jello
Add a few to a bowl of cereal
If nothing else, share some of your berries with your peach coworker friend.
We have six bushes and rarely get more than a handful. The birds, deer and squirrels sure enjoy them though! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe recipe for Jordan Marsh blueberry muffins is the best! I'd make a huge batch of them. When you do start getting a lot, at least blueberries freeze very well. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love blueberries in a bowl and eat them like popcorn.
ReplyDeleteDon't wash blueberries before freezing but after they thaw. Otherwise the skins will be very tough.
