One more hot weekend in the record books. Ugh. 101 yesterday. There is a decent chance of rain this week but we're not holding our breath for that to happen.
Woke up to 2nd Man making a traditional Mexican breakfast, Huevos Rancheros (eggs poached in tomatoes and seasonings) with homemade corn tortillas and refried beans.
Sigh. So comforting.
Today, we are having carnitas! We do it Memorial Day weekend and again Labor Day weekend. It's our beginning of Summer and end of Summer tradition.
It's the weekend, so that means it is time for us to make sure Hobart's quilt is on the table and the chair is at the end so he can jump and and down. He is happy and we make sure he is because...
#notspoiled
That is a great picture of Hobart.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious breakfast to wake up to – yum! With homemade tortillas – double yum! 2nd Man is a culinary wizard!
ReplyDeleteAnd more tasty food coming up!
I see Prince Hobart is very comfortably overseeing his kingdom from his quilted throne.
I'm not really a big fan of Mexican food but seeing 2nd man's cooking; it had to be delicious. Me; I fixed some sausage - cheese breakfast muffins.
ReplyDeleteKing Hobart I see is very comfortable and very happy. He has the both of you trained well. :-}
Enjoy your long weekend.
We did have a very light shower of rain late yesterday afternoon, but going to need a whole lot more to fill in these large cracks and holes that we have but feel very blessed for that bit of rain that we did receive. Chance of rain for the upcoming weekend.
Blessings to you both.
I'm impressed with Hobart's quilt. But not with the temperatures you've been getting. Ah - I guess I'm too used to Wellington, New Zealand's mild maritime, temperate climate. For a good laugh look at our climate under the Wellington, NZ, wikipedia entry. Even with the effects of climate change its still mild! Take care, Michelle ( in Tauranga rather than Wellington as I house keep for Dad (aged 92) while sister is away) XX
