BLAH WEEKEND SO FAR

It's been a strange weekend for the weather.  These two radar images were from early Friday morning...at midnight it was pouring...and at 7am it was pouring.  And it rained all day.

We ended up with almost 3 inches of rain.  It also went from almost 80 degrees for a high into the 40's.  Today is gray and overcast and damp and cold.  Ever have one of those days where you just don't feel like doing anything?  Today is one of those days.  To top it off, we're both are seemingly getting our colds bouncing back.  Could just be allergies but we're both stuffy and have the occasional cough, and just generally feel 'blah'.  So no farm today...with Christmas coming, we don't want to overdo and make ourselves sicker.

Time for a little cookies and ice cream, am I right?

    1. This weather is so depressing, ha. Ice cream and cookies always makes things better. I'd give them up, but, um, they are gone! :-)

  2. And whip cream & fudge sauce, oh my! Sounds like a good day to stay indoors.

  3. Definitely! Especially on those "down days".
I think the lead up to Christmas can be very draining.
We are looking at 35degC today which is not good for cooking.
    Hey ho!

  4. We had the most horrible weather here a couple of weeks ago. The skies dumped over 300 mms in 48 hours. Massive flooding everywhere. Of course now, the garden and the grass is going crazy. As for your cold I was going to such loads of garlic, but I can see your idea is loads better. LOL.

    2. You know the funny thing? I read it as suggest anyway, ha. I had to google how many inches that is. WOW! That's definitely flooding rain. We had a dish with lots of garlic tonight. No one may want to be around us but we'll feel better, ha.

  5. YOU would have to post that picture of cookies and ice cream and I have none in the house. The weather is nasty here in coastal NC today too. Cold, rainy, and wet and I don't feel like leaving the house to go get any. You are a bad, bad, boy today!!! (…but I do have wine!!) Hope you two are feeling better soon. Ice cream is always a good cure if you are feeling poorly!!

  7. I think I'd rather have chicken soup with lots of garlic and onions. Oh, by the way, cut an onion in half and leave it out, supposedly it will absorb germs. Never know til you try. Merry Christmas.

  10. Feel better! Try some elderberry if you have some laying around! Also there's very little in life that cookies and ice cream can't make at least a bit better! :)

  11. I absolutely hate those blah days where the sun never shines and everything is gray. I never do, but I have the feeling I could crawl under the covers and pull the covers over my head. Then, to be ill at the same time...ugh. But, cookies and ice cream can pull me through/

    1. Isn't it depressing? Under the covers is always a feel good way to recover from the blahs but being sick aggravates it, ha.

  12. I was so enjoying our warm days and then, boom, gray-days-winter decided to make an appearance. I warmed up the house with some Christmas baking. So, I’ll see your cookies and ice cream and raise you some apple strudels!

Sorry about your colds returning - get out the lemons and honey (and a bit of brandy!). Sending get-well-for-Christmas wishes!

    1. Weren't they nice? Not too hot, just nice and warm instead of cold and then it changed in an instant. Apple strudels would be great with ice cream, ha.

Got some honey and have some lemons. Thanks!!
