STILL HOT AND DRY

Knowing that we'd be running errands all weekend and wanting to just stay in and relax for a change, I took Friday off and went to the farm to check things out and of course water the fruit trees.

Here is the front yard, over three weeks now since the last mowing.  You can still see the lines from that mowing.  We would say that is zero growth.  If no rain this week, there will be no mowing next weekend and that will mark one month without needing it.

Thank you all for your sweet comments on our anniversary post.  We will reply to each one.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

And we'll leave you today with some very wise words of wisdom...

  1. Right now we are 102 deg.
Cute sign. One for me to make and hang on my kitchen wall.
Speaking of biscuits; 'Just because a chicken was born in the oven doesn't make it a biscuit.' :)

  3. It's really hot and really, really dry. Y'all got some rain a few days ago but it played out before it got here. So I am constantly moving water hoses to keep things alive. Hoping for some rain very soon.
Yes, wouldn't it be nice if biscuits and gravy could work that magic!

    1. We got rain here in Houston but the farm has had zero rain. I think 2nd Family said there were some sprinkles but it was so hot it kind of just evaporated after a few mixtures, ha. We need some rain for sure.
