BONNE MAMAN 2020 ADVENT CALENDAR

Here is something fun.  We wanted this last year but they sell out quickly.  I ordered this one back in September and it was sold out in just a few days*

We are big fans of Bonne Maman jellies and jams.  They are so good and about the closest to homemade that you can buy in the store.

*By the way, we paid for this ourselves, this is not sponsored, we're just fans of their product and wanted to try it out.

It comes in this great sleeved package.  You slide off the outside package (the "exterior" of the house) and then the advent calendar box is decorated as the "inside" of the house with all the rooms.

Just like any advent calendar, you open the little doors, one per day until Christmas and get a sample of a limited edition creation in a small 1 oz jar.  For example, the one above was "pear-mirabelle plum" (delish!)

This was a mango-peach-lime spread (SO good!)

We'll have them with a little butter on some homemade bread (we split one jar between the two of us).

Here's a cherry-elderflower spread.  What a great combination that was.

We've had it on toast too and sometimes we try two jars at once if we get behind.

We miss a few days of eating them on occasion but we do make sure to take one out each day and see what it is.  For example, the ones above are from December 9, 10, 11, 12.

Now I know why advent calendars are fun, ha.

And hey, bonus gift is at the end of the month I'll have a couple dozen tiny jars for future projects!

When we're all done, I'll post a list of the flavor combinations because to me, they give ideas for future canning adventures.  I mean who would think to put together mango, peach and lime?

  1. That is Super Cool! Those little jars are adorable and can be used for many uses. Making & storing homemade meat rubs, dried herbs, be great as little tea light holders, fill with M&M's, small flower vases and of course as canning jars.

    1. I was thinking of some ideas. Now canning jars they would be too small. These are little, like 2 inches high or so, ha. But I could imagine all sorts of uses and besides, we paid for them, so hey, why not keep them for something later on ha.

  2. What a fun idea! The jam flavor combinations are amazing and, like you said, good inspiration for home canning. I love mangoes - sure wish we could grow them here.

    1. That's what I was thinking. When we're all done, I'll post a list. I wanted to skip ahead and read what they are, but of course, that's probably why I would never have been good at advent calendars, ha. Aren't mangoes good? Love them.

  3. my grocery store sells this company's products, but they are hella expensive for a small jar. I have bought one jar occasionally just because.

    1. LOL they are a bit pricey but man they are SO good. Believe it or not this set was not too expensive. As I recall it was about $35 plus I had a free shipping coupon. Granted, total amount is 24 ounces ha, so I guess still pricey but fun to try some crazy limited flavors.

    1. Yay! Great that you got a couple. I just googled and the only place I could still find some were either eBay or Amazon but of course it was like two to three times the price it was back in September, ha. They would make great gifts.

    1. The Bonne Maman link in the post takes you to their website and there is a shop now tab and then gifts tab. Here is the direct link: https://shop.bonnemaman.us

We got ours in September, probably ordered end of August. If you sign up for their list you'll get reminders of things like this. There is currently a smaller version of an advent calendar for sale for Valentines Day I guess. they call it "Ten Ways to say I Love You". I'm giving some serious thought to that too, because it's more fun flavors.

  13. Cute idea- I actually bought a wine one- yep 24 little bottles of wine. I've saved the white ones since i prefer red, but it is a whole glass. Next year if I remember (please remind us LOL), I'm going to order one of the jam ones for my brother who is impossible to buy gifts for. Thanks- I might check out the Valentine's day one too.

  14. Such adorable Advent calendars. I'd like one with bottles of spirits that must be consumed before the next day.

    Love,
    Janie

  15. Today, when I was in the grocery store, I looked for Bonne Maman lemon curd and found none. So, I got Mrs. Dickinson's instead. Not so good.

  16. If you ever decide to get rid of those cute jelly jars, find a Montessori school to donate them to. Many Montessori teachers would be thrilled to have some.
