THIS ONE IS FOR THE BIRDS

So the other day, we got alerts on our phones from our Ring doorbell...an "animal detected" alert.

I was at work, 2nd Man was at home and I said "birds on the driveway, go see what they are..."

Umm...wait.  Is that a vulture?

Where are the others?

Oh yeah...a dozen of them!

Didn't they make a movie similar to this?  LOL.

We had to look it up and read that vultures like to rest up high and on a cold morning, they like black rooftops because of the warmth.  They also like to be able to see 360 degrees around while they groom themselves and dry their feathers of the morning dew.

We love it out here, vultures and all, it's our little piece of heaven!

  1. I hope you don't smell them! Because of what they eat, they can have quite an odor.

  2. We have those Mexican vultures roosting on the electric towers, we have lived cohesively now for forty years. Oftentimes they disappear for days on end, when there is a carcass being cleaned, and then they return "Home". I've read they are useful to the environment by cleaning up decaying animals.

  3. In rural Brazil and its towns, the "urubus" were a constant presence, perched on the roof tops looking for possible food. But in Texas? Roderick
