FOYER DESK HAS ARRIVED

Foyer Desk from Nadeau
Here is the desk in its new home.  It's sort of a trick of the camera angle, it looks like the Wardian Case I blogged about HERE is very close to the desk but it's not, there is about four feet between the two so it won't be crowded.  We were a little worried about the wood on wood tone, that's one reason we went with the darker color so it didn't blend in, but the design and style was just SO beautiful, and it seemed like the perfect choice for what we wanted, so we decided to get it.  Of course, it came from our favorite store, NADEAU.

As you can see, we still need a chair, but I'll find the right one eventually, would like something vintage looking and comfy.  We also can't wait to start finding little things to go in those cubby holes and drawers.  As for the space above, I'm thinking of a shelf, using reclaimed wood, higher up toward the top and then maybe a large painting/print right there above the back of the desk.  We would need something that catches your eye, since this is literally the first thing you see when you walk in the front door.  We have several things in storage that might work perfectly, we just need to get to them.

The great thing about this is that this is a very nice size writing desk.  So often desks are narrow or when they have backs to them like this one, that takes up half the top space of the desk.  This one has a large writing surface with room to spread out, which I like.  And best of all?  As you can tell in this picture, a lot of natural light.  It will be a great space for me to, eventually, work on some writing that I'd like to do.  Who knows, maybe the next great American novel will come from sitting at that desk.

Hey, never hurts to dream, right?

    1. I'll see what I can, someday anyway, turn out. Maybe a novel about the trials and tribulations of trying to make a farm out of nothing, ha.
