OK, this is probably outside the realm of possibility, at least while we aren't at the farm full time, because I'm guessing this has to be watered CONSTANTLY to stay looking this nice. But STILL, it's so pretty. Maybe it's just the Fall and we're starting to miss the bright colors of Spring and early Summer but whatever, they are beautiful for sure.
I'm not even sure what flowers they all are. Oh and how I bet the bees would love something like this, ha.
Be inspired!
A hanging pot dries out more quickly. It is beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty huh? But yeah, man they dry out SO fast, especially in heat...
Deletethis is wonderful but all i can think about is the watering. i'm pretty good about watering but i eventually hit the wall with it.
ReplyDeleteLOTS of watering huh? Funny about hitting the wall, I can totally relate. There comes that one day when you go "hmm, they will be ok if I skip one day" then one day become a couple and then you see them wilting and you go "oops!" Been there done that!!
DeleteI use a mixture of diaper filling and potting soil in my hanging baskets. Just to test how it worked, I watered them very well and left them alone for close to 2 weeks. They still looked great. The water and diaper fill make a gel which holds LOTS of moisture. You can add the mixture to ground soil, too. There's a video on youtube of how to do this. I use the largest diapers I can find. You need about a half and half mixture. I bought the largest box of diapers I could find so I'll have the ingredients for another big batch of the soil mixture. Here's a link to the video showing how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXb8rJ8Rm3I
ReplyDeleteThank you for that link. Wow, great idea!! I will check that out. thank you!!!
DeleteIt does look good, but the watering is an issue.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's some crazy regular watering (and trimming and deadheading, etc).
Delete1st Man,
ReplyDeletePretty assortment of flowers on the patio. I would use watering bottles to keep these babies well hydrated.
Those watering bottles work well don't they? We used some for the ferns.
DeleteVery pretty! But that sure is a lotta watering!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Beautiful display.
DeleteInstead of buying diapers as suggested you can buy what is called Water Storing Crystals. It isn't just for hanging baskets but also for large potted fruit trees or trees that you have planted in the ground. You can buy a package of water crystals at any garden /nursery centers, Home Depot, Lowe's etc.

Yep, lots and lots, ha.
DeleteColleen, I haven't seen those but I like the idea for potted trees. I'm contemplating some potted trees at the farm and that might be a great idea. Thanks!!!
DeleteLooks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pretty?
Deletepretty BUT a bit too cluttered for me and ACHOO!
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda busy for sure....and I didn't think about allergies, ha. Oops!
DeleteThe little flowers in most of the hanging baskets are lobelia. They self-seed easily!
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying your blog, Michelle in Wellington, New Zealand
Aww, thanks for that!!! It's our little corner of internet, hoping to document our journey. Glad you find it enjoyable, we like to hear that. And thank you for the info. I will have to look those flowers up. Awesome!! And welcome!!
DeleteYou are killing me!
