Stopped by Kroger grocery store on a whim, and found these. A set of Ball wide mouth pint jars. There was one missing, so it was a case of 11 instead of 12.
And they marked it down from $12.99 to $5.25...more than half price, for missing one jar. I'll take that deal any day! Will keep checking back for more!
Never hurts to have a supply of canning jars!
Never hurts to have a supply of canning jars!
Can't pass up a good deal like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I did actually look at it and then walk away but after a few feet I realized, "$5 for eleven new jars is not bad", ha.
DeleteSee, I told you you need to come to the farm. I have about a million, some even antique, and don't plan on doing much canning anymore. I was surprised how many old-timers used mayonnaise jars and such.
ReplyDeleteReally? Wow! Maybe you should sell online, ha. Who knows what the future brings, ha.
DeleteWOW! If you had gotten the $3 coupon in the inserts, those would have been $2.25. The coupon is on my mind because I used it yesterday. Those would have been $8.94 at WM. Wherever you got those, don't pay that full price, ever.
ReplyDeleteI just love to luck upon a good markdown for any reason. Wide mouth pints are absolutely the best. You can use those for leftovers in the refrigerator because they are wide mouth (easy to fill and easy to get the food out) and take up less real estate on the shelf. This town never marks down canning supplies!
Oh dang, that would be a great deal, will have to watch for that. This was at Kroger, a grocery store chain. I usually have gotten them at either WM or Target. But I'll have to remember that. Wide mouth jars are the best aren't they? I never thought about leftovers, great idea. Thanks!!!
DeleteThe wide mouths are great for making a salad in and taking to work or a dessert in the 1/2 pint jars. So many great uses.
DeleteThis year I will be making my pumpkin pies in the wide mouth canning rings
you really find the best deals!
ReplyDeleteLucky on occasion, now if I could just make it a full time job, ha.
DeleteWow! What a deal! You have a real talent for finding good deals!
ReplyDeleteYep, it was a good deal for sure. Funny how they justified one missing jar for such a price reduction, but hey, I'll take it. Thanks!!
DeleteWe use these for drinking glasses. Very sturdy.
ReplyDeleteWe use them for that too. They are very sturdy, that's for sure. Plus they just look cool and "farmhousey", ha.
Delete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteYou've found a nice deal in the grocery store. I wish we had deals like this in the grocery store :-)
It's odd to find deals like that at the grocery store but hey, I'll take em where I can find them, LOL!
