Wall Mounted Coat Rack |
Found this WONDERFUL coat rack last week and got it put up over the weekend. It mounts on the wall! Too cool! It's a metal rack, based on a vintage French design and is distressed to look old. It's got four levels of hangers. Coats, hats, umbrellas, and whatever else, right as you walk in the front door. This seemed like the perfect location for it.
Update: I've gotten lots of requests for where I found this. Hobby Lobby. On clearance. Get there fast if you have one near you!

Above it, I hung our first real picture on the wall. This is an old oak frame that my Mom found once upon a time. In it, is a really cool old print...
...a hen (rooster?) and her babies some ducklings in a pond. We figured it seemed an appropriate "farm related" picture. It's funny how when you start hanging stuff on the walls, it starts looking just a little bit more like home. This entryway/foyer will still get a writing desk, and a small table/mirror right by the front door.
I don't think I've ever seen a wall mounted coat rack! I absolutely LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome? As soon as I saw it, I knew we had to have it. I love that it doesn't take up any floor space, plus it just has the unusual "cool factor", ha.
DeleteHow cool is that? I love it. I am with Bee Girl--I didn't know they had those. Where did you find it? And that picture is to cute. Just perfect for your farmhouse.
ReplyDeleteHobby Lobby! On clearance! I saw one once in "Napa Style" catalog. I love that catalog but their stuff is WAY overpriced. Anyway, when I was wandering down the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby, I saw two of them. It was one of those moments where I literally did a doubletake, ha. Not only did they have it, it was 75% off! So I bought it without a second thought and put it up this past weekend. We love it. And yes the picture seemed to fit as well. Love the retro feel of it and it looks like it belongs. It may end up moved elsewhere (2nd man tells me it's too soon to be hanging pics, whatever) but for now it looks perfect there. :-)
DeleteEverything you've done so far seems just perfect for the little farm house! I'm so happy you did the white walls, they just make the wall decor and furnishings pop right out at you and say "Look at me, I'm gorgeous!"
ReplyDeleteWe were worried about the all white, but we did it with that hope in mind, that the items would pop and become the focal point and so far, that seems to be the case. We will use the accents in the rooms for color. For example, the master bedroom will be blue/white/black, the guest room will be pale yellow/pink. The bedspreads, rugs, curtains, pillows, accessories, furniture, etc will provide the color. Thanks for the kind words!
Deletethose are ducklings!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteD'oh! You know, I saw the chicken (rooster? hen?) and "assumed", never paid that close attention. Duly noted, and corrected! :-)
DeleteI love it - I'm going to have to run over to my Hobby Lobby!! Thanks for sharing
DeleteI hope you find one! They had two at the one I was at. I was in there again (imagine that!) yesterday and they still had the second one. Maybe I should buy it as a back up, ha. Let us know if you find one!
DeleteLove Hobby Lobby!!! Have you checked out Pinterest? Such awesome ideas on there. I think of you so often when I'm browsing.
ReplyDeleteHobby Lobby is addictive!! Yes, been slowly looking around Pinterest. A cool website. Our company blocks it so I have to limit myself to the time I have at night but I want to search around some more.
