SOUR CREAM CAKE AND ICE CREAM WEEKEND UPDATE

Got the property mowed today, but alas that was all I got done.  It took a long time because I haven't mowed in a few weeks.  I have a feeling though this might just be the last time this season.  I mowed it pretty short, so we'll see what happens over the next few weeks.

Sour cream cake with ice cream
But when I got home, we had dinner and then this for a fabulously delicious dessert...sour cream cake and vanilla ice cream.

YUM!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Looks good. and beautiful photo making a person wanting to grab a fork and dig right in.
I make a sour cream pound cake but I eat mine with dollop of fresh whipped cream and mixture of berry fruit. For me, scratch cakes made with sour cream or making a mayonnaise cake are the best.
Oh, by the way; thanks for the dessert tease. :} Now, if only my hubby knew how to cook/bake, I would have him make me my birthday cake which will be coming up soon.

Yum, that sounds good, almost like a good coffee cake. I'll have to google that. Thanks!

Ha, thanks. The ice cream was store bought. Can't take credit for that, ha.

I will get him to make another and post it. I think it's a recipe he found in a magazine once a long time ago and only changed it up a bit.

Ice cream was store bought. "Tillamook" brand (we love their cheese and our local store is now carrying their ice cream). I'll work on the cake recipe. Stay tuned!

Dang, I'm sorry you are having to post like this. Just keep doing it till I can figure out what's going on. They are good aren't they? It make them much more moist.

Birthday? We need to get that man baking!! ha.

Thanks!!
