A couple of years ago, I registered the domain name for the blog but I wasn't sure what I had to do to make it direct to the blog. As all things computer related often are, it seemed like it just HAD to be complicated somehow.
Little did I know, it was as simple as flipping a virtual switch on the registry website for the domain name. I just "told" the system where to direct people, simple, quick and 1-2-3.

Now, if you ever forget the longer blogspot.com address, you can just type in www (sometimes you don't even need to do that), our blog name, and of course the ".com", and it will find us. If however you have us saved as a favorite or bookmarked as it is now, there is no need to change anything at all, it will still work as usual, no worries.
Nothing is changing. This is just another way to reach us.

Ain't technology grand? *

My computer no longer requires me to type the www. for most web addresses. I LOVE that. It also remembers what sites I've visited and helps me go back there faster by offering a list of places that have the same letters in them. I just type the letter t and 3 blogs I regularly read are listed below the address box. I just click on the one I want and the address pops into the address bar. I hit the enter key and I'm there. One letter, plus the enter key - it can't get much easier than that. We've come a long way since computers were so picky about everything being done exactly right or you got nowhere. I don't even need to use a blog list, favorites or bookmarks.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool, so many computers do that now (or really, it's the browsers that have adapted to do that). It makes life so much easier doesn't it? I still save bookmarks for places but don't always need to use them.
DeleteIt's been years since I typed in the www. People who see me typing in some address start freaking out, telling me I got it wrong. I love technology! But, it is either super simple or just plain difficult.
ReplyDeleteHa, so true. Very true.
DeleteAren't you fancy. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!!!! You're back!!! Missed you. Yep, see what happens, you go away for a bit and we get all fancy, LOL!
DeleteIt surely is when it works.
ReplyDeleteI edited the end of my post just for you. :-)
DeleteOh good, have a couple of friends I'd like to direct your way who don't 'do' blogspot.
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Thank you for that!!! They don't have to follow or sign up, just pop in and visit, we appreciate it!!!
DeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAnd it works too. How cool is that? That makes it easier for me to direct others to your site. Another way to visit you is always a good idea.
ReplyDeleteYep, it still directs here but it is, like you said an easier way to get here. Thanks!!
DeleteYou are just getting fancy smancy with your www. Love it!! But, I'm with Peg, 1 letter and enter and I'm there.
ReplyDeleteNow, how much more instant can we get?? I'm finding that most people do not have the patience, we all had a few years ago because of the instant internet access. But, I just had a lovely compliment given to me by one of my ICU RN's, " You are the most patient patient I have ever had." Yep, I've been in hospital from Oct 12 pm until Oct 23 noon. They still don't know what went wrong, but I have recovered from it and now, must get my strength back from 11 days of bed rest. Take Care and have a great rest of the weekend. M
Oh my, I didn't know you were going through that. Yikes! I hope you are feeling better. You take care of yourself!!! And thanks for the kind words!!
