BLT SOMETIMES SIMPLE IS BEST

Dinner can sometimes be simple and simple is sometimes the best.  Case in point, the other night we got home from work, dug around in the fridge and something came together.

BLT ingredients
Hamburger buns, toasted.
A sliced tomato.
Some mixed greens.
And of course bacon.

A little mayo (or Miracle Whip) slathered on the bread, stack everything up and voila...

BLT sandwich
A perfect BLT.
One of life's most special meals, ha.

Easy.  Simple.  Best.

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes BLT's on burger buns or on toasted hot dog / hoagie buns or sometimes even on Texas toast.
Using Mayo or Dijon mustard makes for a great sandwich / meal served with plain potato chips of course :} Yum.
Now I'm getting hungry and wishing I had one of them sandwiches.

    1. Oh yes, toasted burger buns are awesome for sandwiches. Oh and yes we had plain potato chips, well, kettle chips, but just plain with salt.

    2. Oh yes, we have used spinach at times. Anything green works, ha!!

And 2nd Man loves Miracle Whip on his sandwiches. I like both but lean Mayo. LOL!

    1. Bacon, the duct tape of the kitchen, ha. These tomatoes we bought were surprisingly good for store-bought. But that's so hit and miss.

  5. I love a BLT. I travelled to Longreach, outback Australia, to see my son and ordered a BLT from the QANTAS museum. To my surprise it was huge. Each slice of bread was about an inch thick!

  6. Make hay while the sun shines, and make BLT's while the tomatoes are still perfect!
