STORAGE TOTE UPDATE
We got some great feedback and suggestions when we posted about the storage totes and color coding them. We really liked the idea several of you had to use them for more seasonal decorations without being holiday specific. I've been thinking about it and the other day I found two totes in new colors and with them, I figured out how to complete our seasonal set:

TILE GETTING READY TO INSTALL NEW HOUSE UPDATE
- Moisture Resistance: Resists water damage, making it ideal for showers and tub surrounds.
- Strength: Provides a solid base that prevents tile cracking due to flexing or movement.
- Mold Resistance: Includes additives like Hardie’s MoldBlock technology to inhibit mold growth.
RedGard is a liquid-applied, waterproofing and crack prevention membrane that is made by Custom Building Products. It is mainly used in tile and stone installs to create a waterproof barrier and reduce the risk of cracks in the underneath transferring to the tile. From their website: Here's what it does:
Waterproofing: RedGard forms a continuous, flexible membrane that prevents water penetration, making it ideal for wet areas like showers, bathtubs, bathrooms, and outdoor applications such as pools or water features. It protects underlying substrates (e.g., cement board, concrete, or drywall) from water damage and mold growth.
Crack Prevention: It acts as a crack isolation membrane, absorbing minor substrate movements (up to 1/8 inch) to prevent cracks in the tile or stone surface. This is particularly useful for floors or walls prone to slight shifting or stress.
Vapor Barrier: RedGard can be used as a moisture vapor barrier under various floor coverings, including tile, wood, or resilient flooring, especially in slab-on-grade applications.
Adhesion: It bonds directly to clean surfaces like cement backer boards, concrete, and metal or plastic drain assemblies, providing a strong base for tile installation with thinset mortar.
It goes on pink, like bright pink! But as it dries, it darkens until it becomes red. The end result is this:
Here is the shower in the master bath. The shower head is on the wall and then the pipe coming down from the ceiling is the rain shower head.
Here's another angle. Oh and guess what else? You can see that they installed our bench seat!
More on that at the end of this post.

GOOD FOOD AND HOBART ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND
How does the time go so fast?
It's been a good weekend and oh yeah, speaking of time flying by, a few days ago was our anniversary!
TWENTY SIX YEARS!
We splurged and went a little decadent but used as many healthy ingredients as we could. These are turkey meatballs, 2nd Man made his own homemade low sodium pasta sauce, whole wheat bread toasted with a a little heart healthy butter and olive oil with garlic and parsley. It was so good!
A little portion control by buying only two cupcakes to celebrate. No need to make a cake or two dozen cupcakes, just buy two good ones and enjoy them.

ARTIFICIAL PLANTS TRASH TO TREASURE
Regular readers know that I have a favorite place to look for bargains...our downstairs trash area! Our building has trash chutes on every floor, and they feed into a separate room, but for boxes and other things that people can't put in the chute, there is an area (indoor) near the loading dock where people can put the things they don't want. I've found quite a few cool items over the last few years.
Then this really pretty red orchid. The leaves are velvety, and it too also looks very real (even down to the clips on the stem). We think it will be pretty in the guest room since "flowers" will be a theme in there.

CABINETRY IS INSTALLED NEW HOUSE UPDATE
All of our cabinets have been installed! So exciting. We saw them this weekend and it really makes it look like a home coming soon! The hardware gets installed toward the end of the project. We'll start with the mundane rooms and end with the best part, the kitchen!
Here is the guest bathroom. The sink will be single basin with two main cabinets and then we opted for three drawers on one side and then a drawer/cabinet on the other side to maximize our storage space.
