GOOD FOOD AND HOBART SUNDAY

Yesterday was rainy and yucky (but some good and fun errands) and today is sunny and clear.  Go figure.  Time for some good food and some Hobart!

Grilled fish over one of my salads with some homemade pickled onions and a vinaigrette.  It was so good.  It's always fun to have your salad and your main dish all at the same time, ha.  We have eaten more fish over the last year than ever in our lives.

And that's a good thing!

Hobart was sleeping on the couch next to me and I had the remote next to me.  I was petting him and he stretched his front legs and pulled them back to cover his face as cats often do.  Instead, he grabbed the remote and pulled it toward him.  I told 2nd Man we had to get a picture!  It only lasted about ten minutes but it's ok we let him hold it.  Because...

  1. That looks like an incomplete meal, the kind that would leave you hungry and searching for donuts an hour after dinner. It needs garlic bread, scalloped potatoes or rice-a-roni.

  2. It looks delicious and very healthy, good for you both keeping at it. I need to eat more fish. Hobart is adorable, we used to have a cat, Mittens, who would sleep and pull anything near him to hold onto. Janie V

    1. Aww, we remember you mentioning Mittens before. I was never a big fish person but I'm a convert, ha.

  3. I don't eat enough fish and I should! I do get the StarKist Tuna Creations to add to small salads! And, to make open-faced tuna melt sandwiches! It's just the right amount of tuna in those pouches!
Your meals always look so yummy!
Hobart gets to choose the next show on Animal Planet! LOL

    1. Ooh, I love a good tuna melt, haven't had one in a while. Those pouches are good too. LOL about Hobart, yeah, and the TV does occasionally catch his eye with something.

  4. I eat one can of StarKist tuna each week, and canned salmon frequently. Some weeks, we have salad every day. Hobart looks content.

    1. We've had salad almost every day many times the last year. You can make them so differently and so good.

  5. Do you have any of your eating lighter recipes under the recipe tab? I'm desperate for some different salads.

    1. Oh my gosh, I never thought about that. Do you know that honestly we just wing it most of the time, use what we have on hand. I will make a conscious effort to kind of keep track of what we do. I should look back at some of my photos I haven't posted of salads. Might can make a post with ideas.

  6. That’s a beautiful meal! Healthy and delicious! I love salads also - I’m so glad my fall-winter garden is now producing the fresh ingredients for them.
I think Hobart is trying to tell you that he wants your attention on him and not the TV!
