We closed on Wednesday...
We had packers on Thursday...
We moved on Friday...
This was our first sunrise, Saturday morning...
Many of you have been following along with us since the very beginning of this journey. Ups and downs, success and setbacks, joys and sadness, but like all journeys, it was always one step forward, even if two steps back.
Our blog header says documenting our journey from a high-rise apartment in downtown to 11 acres in the country. Well guess what?
We made it.
We are living here.
We now live on 11 acres in the country!
More later this week, it's been chaos during the move and unpacking is a nightmare but it's all worth it.
Now...I need to change that header. 😁

Lovely. Well done. Nettie x
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news! I hope that both of you have an ideal life in your new house and many, many years of happiness. Moving is an exhausting business, so your readers should not expect too many blogs in the coming days. Bless you both, Roderick
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! What a wonderful journey you have taken us on. You are now in your beautiful home, and I think you have thought it all through with great insight. Packing and un packing is a NIGHTMARE! What fun you shall have putting everything in place in that wonderful kitchen and pantry.
ReplyDeleteI wish you both nothing but joy and happiness in YOUR dream house, blessings. Donnalyn
This just made my day to know my friends are moved in their new house and now their home. I am so happy for you. I needed some happy news this morning and you made me smile and some days that does not always happen. 80 years old and I am so blessed but somedays I forget it but today is a great day. Thank you and may you share many years in your new home.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you!
ReplyDeleteMary
So happy for you two!! It's been a long wait but so very worth it and before too long all will be put in their planned places or in the properly colored bins which will be incredibly satisfying. Meanwhile, don't try to do it so fast it's not fun. All is under a roof so it will be dry until you get to it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the process!
One more suggestion: plant shade trees to the west of your wonderful new home as they will give you increasing shade as the years go by. Don't plant Arizona Ash as they rot from the inside out after about 20 years. That happened to our two shade trees in Waco. What a heartbreak.
DeleteApplause!!! Well done!! Enjoy your next chapter living in the country.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How wonderful that you've fulfilled your lifelong dream!
ReplyDeleteEcstatic for you both. Congratulations on your dreams coming through.
ReplyDeleteI just knew that come the 1st of the month that you would be moving in.
I bet my hubby last weekend $5.00 that you would be moving out at the farm by the 1st of Nov. I kinda had that feeling the way things where moving along quickly, that it would be just a matter of time that you both would be waking up to your very 1st sunrise. Time to make all them new memories.
Best wishes to you both
Enjoy all of them 1st memories. So happy for you both and Thank You for taking us along this wonderful journey with you both.

ReplyDeleteI am over the moon with joy for you both. I'm sad Hobart didn't get to make the journey and I've been thinking about it this way. In his senior years it might have been a bit much for him to handle and you would not want such sadness in your new home. I think he let you both go so you could move on to the next chapter, if that makes sense. Hugs to you both.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful comment Janie, it made me tear up. Great thing for 1st and 2nd to think about as they start their new life. Our furry loved ones will always be with us, waiting patiently for the day we can be reunited. Congrats guys, you made it!
