CUTE OR CREEPY FRIDAY FUNNY

OK...so I saw these at the store the other day...

 We love a soft boiled egg on occasion and we have a couple of regular egg cups.  I thought these were really cute but I didn't want to make a purchase until I showed 2nd Man.  So I took this picture and when I got home, I showed him.  He said "no way they are too creepy".  When I asked why he said "because you're spooning into an egg to eat the top half of it while the bottom half has the feet of a chick sticking out like it's already partially hatched. 

I never thought about that way.  I just thought they looked cute.

GARDEN PLANNING FRIDAY FUNNY

OK...we saw this and had to share!

We can definitely relate.  We were discussing what to plant in the garden this year (we skipped last year just to have a break but we miss it).  I mentioned to 2nd Man that it will soon be the season for me to be cranky after being outside in the heat and humidity.

Then we saw this.

True.  So true.  LOL!

CUPCAKE WARNING FRIDAY FUNNY

A couple of weeks ago we had a similar 'watch/warning' with the witches from Oz.  2nd Man saw this one the other day and thought it was perfect.  I like the way he thinks. 

Speaking of watches and warnings, we've been hit with some heavy rains.  The worst of it has missed us at both downtown apartment and the farm (so far) but areas all over town have had massive flooding.  Last night, one area of Houston had a massive 6" of rain in about an hour.

As I type this, it's just overcast but they say even worse weather is coming tomorrow.  Not sure how this weekend will play out at the farm, I'm sure we'll have lots of watches and warnings.  Hmm, maybe 2nd Man should make cupcakes, ha!

GARDENING THERAPY FRIDAY FUNNY

Well there is that, ha.  And peppers and carrots and cucumbers and squash and, well, you get the picture.   I must say, as much as some people hate working outside I love it.  I'll admit I don't LOVE it in the middle of Summer when it's hot and humid, but it's still rewarding to me, even if in bits and pieces at times.  It really IS like therapy.

And you DO get tomatoes, ha!

DIET FUNNY

 Now THIS is a diet we can get behind, ha!

Beautiful weather here, clear, cool(ish) and no rain until mid week next week.  Should be a good weekend, if we can get through a Friday.

FRIDAY FUNNY

HA!  We love a good play on words like this.  

Well we had storms and heavy rain yesterday morning, and then it passed on through and now it's cool and beautiful.  The plan for this Easter weekend is to clean out the rest of the garden beds (more on that this weekend) and the raised beds that hold the fruit trees behind the house.

But more on all that tomorrow.  For now, just have a laugh, the world could sure use some more laughter after this week, that's for sure.

WEEDS A FRIDAY FUNNY

Isn't this the truth?  Sigh.

If we wanted to grow weeds on purpose, we'd be doing well.  They just appear from everywhere don't they?  And they thrive without water with too much water in bad soil in good soil.  I guess they have adapted to survive over hundreds of years.  

Today is Friday.  We have an iffy forecast for tomorrow.  Possible heavy rain but they say it may be scattered.  So heavy downpours, but maybe not anywhere on our side of town?  Who knows.

We'll see. 

KITTY CAT OF THE EAST

OK, so first of all, no cats were harmed in the making of this picture and it's not our cat ha.  

We found this online and it made us laugh.  The person took the opportunity of their cat sleeping under a cabinet (they said their cat slept there all the time) to add a pair of fabulous ruby slippers to her feet...and then boom, just like that, she became the Wicked Witchcat of the East! 

I don't think any of our cats (past or present) would stand for anything being on their feet for ANY length of time, ha.

FRIDAY FUNNY

We saw this online the other day and thought we would share.

Of course it helps that we still both love watching The Wizard of Oz from time to time.  I guess kids nowadays don't get the magic of seeing it once a year as an "event" at Thanksgiving like when we were little.  I remember counting down the days until it was coming on.  

Anyway, yep, this is pretty accurate, keep an eye out during the watch, you never know what might be coming down the road.

Take shelter with the warning though because all hell is about to break loose, ha.  

THE GREAT CHICKEN DEBATE

We saw this online the other day and it sparked debate in our household.  2nd Man likes white meat the best, the breast and the wing.  His least favorite part is the thigh.

I on the other hand love the dark meat.  Thighs are my absolute favorite, to me it's the perfect piece of chicken with the most flavor.  He will eat thigh meat if it's chopped up and included in a recipe but just fried chicken?  Nope.  The thighs he leaves for me.  I'm fine with that.  I leave the wings for him.

BREAD A FRIDAY FUNNY

Saw this sign and we cracked up laughing...

We love our bread, that's for sure.  Of course around here, 2nd Man bakes most of the time...

And even I dabble on occasion (this is beer bread that I make on occasion)...

We can attest to the fact that is does indeed rise in the yeast and set in our the waist!

Hope you are having a good week.  It's been another one of our weird Winter weeks.  We got up into the mid 70's at one point, it's been foggy every morning and rainy on and off all day, every day, and now we're back down into the 40's.  TGIF!

GARDEN WORKOUT FRIDAY FUNNY

Saw this online and after any Spring/Summer weekend of doing stuff in the yard, I can honestly say this feels true. 




There are times where everything is sore, all of the above and then some, ha.  2nd Man said I should get a large copy of this to put in the garden shed as a reminder.  I think I'll have the sore muscles as a reminder, that's enough, ha!  

Wow, it's cold here again.  The other day we broke a record high, 82 degrees.  Today it got down into the 30's with a chance of sleet/snow a bit to the North of the Houston area.

KIDS TODAY FRIDAY FUNNY

Those of us a certain age will relate to this...

I was TOTALLY this kid.  I remember wanting this pen in the worst way.  And when I got it?  OMG it was THE best thing ever.  I think I was even, albeit briefly, the star of the school.  

Sigh.

Kids today just don't understand what it was like when we were young.

OK we're probably sure you can figure out why we posted this, because it's friggin' adorable and of course we love cats!  We'll take one of each please!  What cuties.  Glad she didn't have four, that fourth one might have been invisible, ha!

Hope you are having a good week.  Our weather is still cool, we got down into the upper 20's two nights in a row.  Now it's slowly warming up.  Supposed to be 70 on Sunday.  But next week we may have storms and heavy rain on Thanksgiving Day.  

Speaking of, we can't believe next week is already time for Thanksgiving?!?  Are we ready, um, yeah sure, aren't you?

It's Friday, finally, and it's been a long week for some reason.  Work has been stressful for both of us, 2nd Man has been feeling a bit under the weather, not sick like having a cold, but just "feeling" the weather change, and we've had rainy, dreary days most of the week.  Today, finally, it is nice and this weekend is supposed to be beautiful.  We'll see if they are right and we'll see what can get done at the farm.

OK, fess up, how many of you experience something like this?  As a teen/young adult of the 80's, my brain knows the lyrics of, oh, 1,765 songs or somewhere thereabouts.  I can sing along with every single top ten single of the 80's...but the other day at work we were talking about dinner and someone asked what we had last Friday.  Um.  I couldn't remember.  

So 80's, 70's, 60's songs filling your head vs what you needed in the kitchen, a meal from a week ago, a name, it's all the same I guess.  Maybe our brains have a limited capacity and I filled mine up with too many songs?  HA!

Hope those in the East are safe from Florence.  We have a rain event from a "tropical system" in the Gulf and so our weekend is looking to be yet another washout.  We'll see.
