OK, fess up, how many of you experience something like this? As a teen/young adult of the 80's, my brain knows the lyrics of, oh, 1,765 songs or somewhere thereabouts. I can sing along with every single top ten single of the 80's...but the other day at work we were talking about dinner and someone asked what we had last Friday. Um. I couldn't remember.
So 80's, 70's, 60's songs filling your head vs what you needed in the kitchen, a meal from a week ago, a name, it's all the same I guess. Maybe our brains have a limited capacity and I filled mine up with too many songs? HA!
Enjoy your day!
I've been told that Doorways have the ability to suck thoughts from your brain, hence the inability to remember why you entered said room.
ReplyDeleteI blame my lack of memory on our electronics. We used to have to open a phone book or just plain remember phone numbers, addresses, birthdays. Now we store all that information in our phones. We don't actually write anything down anymore like grocery/to-do lists. Heck, we snap a picture of a business card or poster so we can recall the info. Sigh. Technology is awesome but maybe not so great for the brain.
this is me too.
ReplyDeleteWe sing songs and they rhyme. That is why they are so easy to remember, plus we do this beaucoup times over the years. Dinner last Friday? Did you even say it aloud? Over and Over? thought not! I can remember phone numbers I have not dialed in 30 years! And, they are not relatives. But, the last number I called. Not so much.
