Every year we post something about Halloween candy and favorites by state. This year we saw this and thought we'd see what everyone thinks.
What is your LEAST favorite Halloween Candy?
Even tho there are many recipes to which to use candy corn that is still my least favorite. Actually I really don't care for any of them that are shown
ReplyDeleteHA, we understand!! the list is pretty comprehensive, ha.
DeleteMy grandchildren eat all of those. The oldest is 13, so it surprising to me as my grandparents ate most of those and I always considered them
ReplyDelete'old' people candy.
Wow, that's interesting. Maybe the phrase "everything old is new again" is something that is true here, somehow they appeal to a new generation, ha.
DeleteI loathe Necco Wafers, Good and Plenty, and Black Licorice. I haven't had Circus Peanuts, Wax Bottles or Mary Janes in years. But I like the remaining four.
ReplyDeleteNecco wafers I could never learn to like either. My Mom though loved them. And black licorice, ugh I have never EVER liked it.
DeleteMary Janes and Tootsie Rolls are good for nothing except extracting dental fillings :D Good and Plenty (or anything with black licorice) give me the heebie jeebies. Smarties and Candy Corn are acceptable.
ReplyDeleteNow that was funny!! True that! I find Jolly Ranchers can do the same. Licorice must be an acquired taste because I just do not like it, never have. I've tried, just don't. Smarties are ok to both of us too. 2nd Man doesn't like candy corn, if I'm forced to eat some, I will and at least they don't gag me like black licorice, LOL!
DeleteI have always loved Tootsie Rolls and Good n Plenty. A box would last half the Saturday matinee if you ate just one at a time. I always hated the wax cola bottles.
ReplyDeleteTootsie Rolls are good (if a bit sticky to the teeth). You know I don't think I've ever had the wax cola bottles. if I did, I don't remember. Maybe I should try them.
DeleteLeast favorite: Anything non-chocolate..
ReplyDeleteI LIKE how you think!
DeleteI thought I'd say Necco wafers then saw the black licorice - just can't stand the taste. Looking back I wouldn't eat any of those, but if I had to choose one it would be the Tootsie Roll. Donna@gather
ReplyDeleteWe understand. Definitely black licorice is the bottom of my list. Tootsies aren't terrible.
DeleteI am one of those weird people who actually like Necco wafers. As a kid I loved the wax bottles too. As an adult I have no idea why I did. Circus peanuts and licorice tie for the worst candy in the world
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! Maybe the wax bottles are a kid thing and as adults we don't understand the appeal, ha. Circus peanuts I haven't had in so long, I really don't remember the last. See all the comments above about my dislike of licorice, ha.
DeleteAll of the above
ReplyDeleteAre you SURE? HA! Hey, we understand!!
DeleteI'm with Barbara - all of the above.
ReplyDeleteNow bring on the GOOD Halloween candy!
And by GOOD, anything chocolate! Ha.
Deletebut I LIKE #9, #8, #7, #6, #2. whoever invented #1 should be shunned.
ReplyDeleteCircus peanuts are weird. I really don't remember what they taste like.
DeleteI love black licorice-has to be the Australian kind-but I wouldn't eat any of the others. Don't even know what some of them are. I don't think we have #4,5&10 in Canada, and I would die before I would eat anything with peanut butter!! Chocolate is the only good candy!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting I wonder if licorice flavors/blends are different in different countries? If I ever find myself in Canada or Australia, I'll give it a shot. And yeah, chocolate makes the world go 'round! ;-)
DeleteHappy Halloween 1st Man and 2nd Man!!! :) Oh the candy...not too many turn my nose up but those icky hard molasses ones...what were they called??? Can't remember...I likely repressed that memory lol! :)
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!!!!!!! Same to you as well!!! Hard molasses ones, are those the puffed up kinda square ones that look like little pillows? I think I know what you are talking about and YES. Also bad!
DeleteI hate black licorice. I also can't and won't eat anything with nuts or coconut.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Feel ya on the licorice but nuts and coconut, yum!!!
DeleteI agree, except for Smarties! I always get a bag in the 75% off after Halloween sale and have a few a week for months. Did you know in England what we know as M&M's are called Smarties? My husband live in England until he was 14 and told me that.
ReplyDeleteSmarties are M&M's in England? Oh my you've really thrown us for a loop now, ha. Thanks that's fun info to know.
DeleteIn Canada, Smarties are chocolate drops in a candy coating - those are called Rockets.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that's almost like the M&M that Shelley mentioned above. Cool! And hey, our hometown NBA team is the Houston Rockets. Ha. I like that!
Deletei love black licorice. i'm weird.
ReplyDeleteIf you are weird then you are the coolest most awesome weird person we've ever known. :-)
DeleteSide note, in a way, black licorice seems kinda witchy...I like that.
