Sandwich bread ready for slicing |
2nd Man made some fresh sandwich bread the other day. It's his own recipe he just made up and perfected over time. We love homemade bread, it makes for great sandwiches, or on the side of a main dish, and of course toast. Best of all, if it doesn't get entirely eaten, bread crumbs for later use!
Bread and pasta, my weaknesses, ha.
UPDATE: After many requests, recipe will be coming in an updated post as soon as we type it into something that makes sense.

Deletegreat looking bread. i bet it makes good french toast too! isn't bread and pasta everyone's downfall? i think so! haha!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, french toast, haven't had that in awhile, great suggestion. Sigh, bread and pasta are perfect food huh?
DeleteBread and pasta...and rice...and potatoes are my weakness, haha
ReplyDeleteOh yes, can't forget rice and potatoes.
DeleteI've been baking all of my own bread recently, both sandwich and French, and Mr. Granny says he doesn't want it to ever stop. This week I made the French bread recipe found at http://hickeryhollerfarm.blogspot.com/2012/02/making-white-bread-part-2.html and it was so easy and delicious I ordered the perforated french bread pans like the ones she uses. I can hardly wait to try them out!
ReplyDeleteOooh, that recipe looks good! We love french bread too. I will pass that recipe link along to 2nd Man. I understand why Mr. Granny says to never stop. :-)
DeleteYou can't post those photos and yummy descriptions and then not give the recipe! :O)...
ReplyDeleteI asked and asked again and he relented, ha. a I will be posting an update with a recipe as soon as we type it into a coherent format.
DeleteOh yea! You can't post home made stuff and NOT share the recipe! LOL! Unless it's a family secret;-)
ReplyDeleteHa, I totally understand. I will have a post coming with the recipe. :-)
DeleteThanks a lot!! I'm trying to cut back on bread because it's made me so fat over the years and look at that beautiful picture!! I can smell it even. Don't you DARE print that recipe. I am warning you!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Watch out, it's coming soon!! :-)
DeleteIf I could make bread that pretty, I would make bread, even the kneading part.
ReplyDeleteAww, that's very sweet to say. Your comments (and everyone else's) have been read and appreciated by 2nd.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I have made 1,000's of loaves and you can tell 2nd Man this is awesome.
