YARD ART, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Rusted rings, yard art, image courtesy of Southernliving.com
As we clear more and more spots around the farm property, we look for future ideas for artistic focal points.  We saw this image a couple of years ago and saved it.  I'm not sure what they used for these wonderful circles, but they look really cool.  Sort of modern...sort of rustic...sort of "long abandoned".

We kind of like that look that's kind of blending in a bit but is still a bit of a focal point or something to catch your eye.  Something like this also gives a spot to plant around "on purpose", ha. .

Be inspired!

  1. I would say the rings are from an old whiskey barrel. I have some of them rings laying around here where the barrels just finally fell apart after several years.

    1. Ah!! Good point! I didn't think about that. Hmm...might have to check around for some old ones that someone might be getting rid of, ha.

  2. They are old wood wagon wheel rims from back in the early days of farming. I have tons of them. Come and get some. They make wonderful armilarys (I can't even spell it right.)

    1. Oh, dang. I wished I was closer, ha. That's cool. Maybe I'll have to put an ad out there and see if anyone local has some.

  3. I picked up some spacers for use on the big trucks with double tires. These look very similar to what I picked up.

    1. I know, right?!? I would look at that, not fancy in the ground like that, but just laying in a pile of trash and not see the potential.

  5. I have some of those rings in my brush fence. They came from the rain barrel that had once been a wine barrel.
