OK...so it's not the farm, but it's a pretty nice view...
This is the view from the desk in the bedroom window looking toward the South. Our unit is on the corner so we have this view from one room and then also have a balcony that faces into downtown. I will get a picture of that tomorrow.
Anyway, we are here, amidst boxes and trying to find things, but overall it was a pretty smooth process. The movers were great, they knocked it out quickly, what we saw as overwhelming they just saw as a job and it was done in a few hours. We got all settled in and went back to the house for the cats and brought them over last after everyone was gone. It's funny, Brisbane, the old cranky kitty, was the one we thought would be most freaked out, but he is roaming around like it's a new fun place to play, while Hobart, the younger happy go lucky kitty, is currently hidden under the china cabinet. I'd get a picture but it would probably be a black screen with two yellow dots, LOL!
It's been a long day, we are just relaxing, doing some laundry and adjusting to new surroundings. Tomorrow we go back to the house to get all the little things you leave behind, and start cleaning. Closing is Tuesday so we aren't done, still work ahead of us to do (and we are both off Monday). Oh, and the weather is supposed to 'turn' tomorrow, it's currently 80's and humid, tomorrow is going to be rain and 40's. More later!
Nice view and one step nearer to the farm.
ReplyDeleteOlder cat, "Okay, they brought all the important stuff."
ReplyDeleteYounger cat, "So, why did we leave the house behind?"
oh my gosh what a view!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing,, I am so happy for you,,
One step at a time.
ReplyDeleteNearer to the farm all the time. With a stunning view.
So glad that the move went well and that y’all are settling in. What a great view! With its southern exposure, that might tempt Hobart into coming out to sun himself.
ReplyDeleteGreat view! I would say these are pretty decent digs for a stop gap place!
ReplyDeleteA very lovely view! Glad Brisbane is doing well. Hobart will follow suit soon enough. Congrats on your forward movement! Enjoy this part of the journey!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on this new part of your journey.
ReplyDeleteMoving on Boxing Day, not a chance in the UK its a public holiday things dont get back to normal until Monday here, glad the move went well, I hope you are both soon settled :-)
ReplyDeletegreat view!!! this should be a fun journey!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of having both the urban and rural lifestyle. It would suit my personality to a T. I look forward to living vicariously with you both.
ReplyDeleteThe view is great!
ReplyDeleteI too thought that I had lost one of my cats (the then younger one) when I moved. I just could not find her. Then I saw an all grey cat outside and I yelled, "Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!" Um, it wasn't Lucy. One of my new neighbors also has an all grey cat. Anyway, I finally noticed that the trap door to the bathtub plumbing, which was in a slightly open closet, was ajar. Yup, about 3 am she came out looking for food. Nailed that trap door shut!
I'm glad everything went so well. What a view! And a corner window? Wish I could see that! Enjoy the time there!
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect place to blog from! i am so glad that the move went so well! congrats on getting one step closer to the farm! (both of our cats took a few days to acclimatize when we moved but the little guy will come around!)
ReplyDeletesending much love to you both! your friend,
kymber
cats will come around eventually; they don't like change, same as humans.
ReplyDeleteI saw that the weather was pretty damn nasty down your way; is everyone OK?
What a great view you have. Glad to hear the move went well. It is always a lot of hard work, but worth it in the end. I am always amazed at the amount of papers to be signed at a closing. The worse part is when you see what you will actually pay at the end of the mortgage with interest. You just have to ignore that part. Brisbane will gradually creep out & explore his new digs with Hobart. Get a good night's sleep after all that hard work..
ReplyDeleteOne more step accomplished toward your final destination. Looks like a great view....
ReplyDeleteYou've both accomplished a lot in a short time.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are almost done with it.
ReplyDeleteLook at that view... your apartment is a total contrast to your farm. That is pretty darn fun... its two lives for one! :O)
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you both that the house selling and the move has gone so well! That is always a stressful ordeal to go through!! Now I hope the weather is being kind to you...I am in Illinois where we are being rained on for 3 days.....but thankfully, no tornadoes. I am hearing of deadly tornadoes in Dallas, ice storms in the Texas panhandle, rain where you are in Houston. Hope all is well with you. Stay safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a view! That is quite a contrast from the farm. Looks like you have the best of both worlds. I'm glad your move went smoothly. How far is it to your farm from your apartment? Stay safe in this wonky weather we are having.
ReplyDelete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous View!!! I hope y'all don't get the extreme weather received in the DFW area. Stay safe, and warm!!!
All I see from my window is the sea - I'm sure you see a lot more going on than I do! Keep dry!
ReplyDeleteVisit Keith's Ramblings!
Congratulations, you survived!
ReplyDeleteHappy settling in time to you!
