Christmas Tree in the Snow |
One of our dearest friends in the world was visiting her family in Michigan. Her Mom had snapped this photo of their back deck, where they had an outdoor Christmas tree decorated in lights and then it snowed. The end result was just magical! She sent me the picture and I said "we have to put that on the blog".
We don't get snow down these parts, flurries on occasion, certainly nothing ever like this, so we have to live vicariously through others. If there is anything that seems to go hand in hand with Christmas, it's snow.
Of course, what is OUR Christmas Day forecast? 80 DEGREES!!!
Christmas is in a few days...got snow yet? :-)
Thanks for sharing! That is beautiful. We had one White Christmas here in coastal NC back in 1989 (I think it was '89). I walked to my Mother's house dragging a big black trash bag full of presents. The drifts were knee deep! For some odd reason I did not put up a Christmas tree that year. I was pretty upset with myself because it would have been a perfect Christmas! I must have been in a "Bah Humbug" mood. Our weather forecast is for the high 70's up to 80 degrees Christmas Day. I expect I will be on the beach!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and 2nd Man a very Merry Christmas!
How beautiful! Kinda looks like the Aurora Borealis, with the hazy colors all blended.
ReplyDeleteAs for a warm Christmas, I'm loving it - I'll take T-shirt weather any day!
Snow? Rare here.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is tomorrow and we will be nudging a 100 degrees. Salads will be the order of the day.
We are unseasonably warm here by an extra 10C. Have a lovely Christmas guys!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here either... As a matter of fact it's been raining all morning and we are expecting severe weather this afternoon and evening. There's talk about everything from severe thunderstorms, flooding, straight line winds and tornadoes... Merry Christmas!
ReplyDelete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteOh your friends picture brings back so many memories of my home town Marquette Michigan, way up there in the U.P.
We usually has some snow by now. It's strange this year with the weather, our temperature is 58 degrees.
70 degrees for three days here. what a ripoff! i am so not feeling xmas this year.
ReplyDeleteWhy thanks. Only snow I'm likely to see this Christmas, too, barring a robust Eggnog :).
ReplyDeleteWe may not have 80 degrees but we are going to have a green Christmas with temps above freezing. Bummer.
ReplyDeletewe are expecting 70F on 12/25. happy happy merry merry to you and your hubby!
ReplyDeleteRain and high winds but no snow yet.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
We are expecting 25 C (77 F) in our little neck of Oz which is wonderful as it isn't stinking hot. I have to admit though, to me, a traditional Xmas is one with snow. I've never had one of those, only seen them on the TV and on cards but it is what I think of when someone talks about 'traditional' Christmas. Strange eh!!
