Spring is officially here and the plants know it!
The apple trees are starting to bloom out...
And so are the plum trees!
Speaking of blooming...
Colleen was right!
The miniature rose (at least one of the two) that I rescued (STORY HERE), is blooming and it is YELLOW! So pretty! We're taking it as a sign for the new house. It might be really pretty to do something like this:
OK, we know this isn't exactly what our house will look like, we wish we would have a porch like that, but it does show how pretty yellow roses are with a red and white farmhouse style. We will have one really great spot between the porch and the garage/driveway that might be the perfect place to start.
Plus, "Yellow Rose of Texas" is a think, so there IS that to inspire us as well.
Happy Spring!
That is so inspiring to see isn't it? A couple of weeks ago, my trees had no leaves, this morning they are covered and green. I'm glad this long winter is over, ready for warm. The flowers are so pretty and I am in LOVE with the yellow roses in front of the house. I never knew that combo was so beautiful. You are going to have so much fun out there I can't wait to watch. Love - Janie
ReplyDeleteLove spring! The little rose is pretty!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't know about them already, you need to check out the Antique Rose Emporium. They're in TX, no idea how far from you but their delivery service is stellar. I got the only roses that will grow for me in Florida's very harsh conditions.
ReplyDeleteSpring has sprung! It’s wonderful to see all the beautiful blooms! Your yellow rose is gorgeous! It goes so well with your upcoming house color. I second Amanda’s suggestion of the Antique Rose Emporium. It’s in Independence, just outside Brenham. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds as you shop. They sell the antique varieties of roses which are very hardy and much easier to grow and maintain. That’s where I bought my roses.
ReplyDeleteLove It!
ReplyDeleteWhite daises go so well together with yellow roses. You see them together lots of times in a bouquet together. (the larger rose plants)Both make great cut flowers.
Blessings to you both. Wishing you both a fantastic weekend.
By the way; nice to see your fruit trees R blooming. Nice sign that Spring has arrived. I guess Thursday was the 1st day of Spring.
DeleteTime for me to get my hummer feeders cleaned up and ready to go. Usually around the 1st part of April they will be arriving here in my area.
When transplanting roses, be sure to cut off the blooms as well as the rose buds so that the rose can concentrate more on the growing process instead of trying to keep the blooms and buds alive.
