INSPIRATION THURSDAY, RUSTIC GARDEN FENCE

Rustic woodland fence, photo courtesy of Eden Design
Anyone who has read the blog for any length of time knows of my love of fence designs.  Which one we end up with at the farm and where?  Only time will tell.

Until then, I'll collect images of styles I like and someday, I'll be able to look back through my blog and go "oh yeah, I want this type of fence or that type of fence."  As for this one, I love the use of rustic timber and the it has the mesh screening/fencing to keep animals out.  Of course the flowers certainly add to it as well.  Check them out!  I don't think we have any straight timbers like that on the farm, but I suppose it could be trucked in.

Hope you are having a good week.

    1. Ahhh, a rustic gazebo sounds like heaven. I need to find one of those for our inspiration (heck, if you blog about it, maybe YOURS will be our inspiration, ha).

  2. I love that look! I use the plastic mesh fencing around my garden (and for a gazillion other garden uses). Love the stuff. It's inexpensive and oh so forgiving. One drawback is that I have to also use the folding wire fencing along the entire bottom, or my dogs can push right under it. The lower railing on the one you show would stop them, but it wouldn't keep smaller animals, like rabbits or rodents, out.

    1. It's a great look huh? Good idea about the plastic mesh, I've seen it in the store and never of course had a need for it, but perhaps someday soon. No dogs to worry about but there ARE rabbits out there. My initial garden beds will just be raised and I'll fence them individually and then maybe next Fall we can fence the garden area. I'll have to remember that mesh.

  3. I like this, and I need something like it. Wonder if those goats that come in from the neighbor's lot could scale this fence? They sure aren't shy about wandering through the yard.

    1. Random goats roaming in? Luckily our property is surrounded by good fencing so whatever animals lurk on the other side wills tay over there. Goats are cute but probably not when they are eating up your plants, ha.

  4. I like that rustic look, I also like the white painted picket type fencing. I wouldn't know which to choose, but as I'm living in rented accomodation at the moment, the problem isn't about to rise - ha ha

    1. Oh my, you need to look back through my inspiration Thursday posts, I've posted lots of picket fence pictures too, I want them all. White picket and rustic, ha. I think the property is big enough to figure out some sort of mix, we'll just have to see. No rush I suppose, though I'm sort of instant gratification at times, ha. Thanks for stopping by!! Come back soon!!

  5. Love this! If you have enough trees, you can make the posts and pass through from your own property.

I store up ideas, too but when the time comes to choose something, ! have a hard time sticking to a style.

  6. Love, love this fence. Hoping to make one like it this spring. Is Eden Designs a local landscaper?

    1. Isn't it pretty? No, not a local landscaper. That was just the website where I found the photo. Of course i used it as inspiration and our fence came out different in the end anyway.
