EARTH DAY AT THE FARM

Off to the farm today, we actually have COLD weather coming!  40's later this weekend.  40's for almost May is unusual for sure.  I hope to get the yard mowed, that's the biggest project but we've had some rain this week so I'm not sure how "wet" it will be.  Any day out of the city is a good day.

I have some big plans for another project that I hope I can get done this weekend, but we'll see, the weather needs to cooperate.  I might only get half of it done and have to finish next weekend.

I'll have an update post later.  Hope your Earth Day weekend is off to a good start.  Get out there and enjoy the Earth as she is meant to be enjoyed!

  1. More like soup weather today; wind blowing / hollowing, cold (sweat pant weather) and just darn right miserable. Yard needs mowing but to wet here to do any of that. With the wind, need some sun to help dry out the grass somewhat.
Enjoy your day and hopefully you will get most of your projects accomplished.
    Indoor projects for me today

    1. WOW! You're just far enough North of us to get the cold stuff. It was a beautiful weekend in the end (now that I'm replying Monday night, ha)

  2. We are over cast here today, but a lovely temperature. I had a neighbor over for brunch and we enjoyed all the birds on my window sill feeding. Have a great Earth Day 🌸🌺🌲🐝🌳

    1. HELLO! Thanks for stopping by (and I need to get to your other comments on previous posts). Isn't there something so relaxing about watching birds? They are such lovely things to watch. Hope your Earth Day was a good one!!

  3. When I mowed, I used a reel mower. I doubt anyone would mow with it and pick up sticks. When my yard was mowed today, the bag was emptied into chicken pen instead of being sucked up by the leaf truck to go "who knows where." I think it is about 70 here with sunshine and clouds, threatening rain, but it's just a few popups and mower said she felt one drop of rain. So far, I am too ill to properly enjoy Earth Day, but am doing an effort to care for her. I am going to buy one more LED light today, so less energy used.

    1. What a great thing to do, especially the electronics recycling . We need more bulbs that are energy efficient. I will add that to our list. Thanks!!

  5. Lovely day here in western Colorado and we are just back from our local March for Science which I am happy to say had a good turnout here in conservative land. It gives me hope.

    1. We did, at one time out there, but I haven't seen any in a few years. I don't know what's changing them. I did't know they ate snails. I wish we could "buy some" and spread around (like ladybugs, ha).

  8. I made a monster pot of chili and divided into several meals (chili, chili spaghetti freezer meals) and shared some with my good neighbors. I also made an old fashioned pistachio poke cake...We did not share that, haha. And I planted some trees.

    1. Yay for you! Good food, sharing with neighbors and planting trees! I made it a point to plant some things as well. Pistachio poke cake? I need to look that up.
