AN AUDIENCE

Yesterday, while at the farm prepping for the Winter storm coming, I had watchers...

...these adorable donkeys!

This is the neighbor side that had the goats.  They goats are kept in a different area of his property and the donkeys are now on the side by us.  The fence was fixed so no worry about donkeys in the yard.  I walked over to the fence line to say hello, the one in the foreground came over and let me do head scratches and loved it but the others were too hesitant about this strange man making weird noises at the fence.  But they stayed around the whole time I was outside.

It was a good day, more of an update on that tomorrow.  Today we just wait...

...we're the red dot and the line between sleet/snow and just rain is getting ever closer to us!

    1. I think yours Is coming soon. And aren't they cute? I'd find myself just staring at them. They probably thought "why is this human staring at us?" ha.

  2. Such adorable on-lookers you have.
Thus far we have roughly 2 inches of snow. Started around 7:30 this morning in nice big flakes and it is still snowing but much smaller flakes.
Snow is just right for building snow people

  3. Awww, they look like our 9 donkeys. Looks like a little one maybe 2-3 months old? It’s 3:15 and no snow or sleet yet.....

  4. What sweet furry neighbors, given the choice, I would choose the donkeys over the escape artists goats :)
My daughter's donkeys are the nosiest little creatures, we love them dearly.
Hoping the bad weather doesn't show up !

    1. And I bet donkeys don't eat up the trees like goats, ha. Of all the animals on a farm, I think donkeys are my favorite to be around. We missed he worth stuff now we are waiting on a freeze...you stay warm too!

  5. Cute little 4-legged neighbors! The little fuzzy one looks especially sweet.
I think you might have gotten some snow at your Farm this evening/tonight – if not, it got close. The snow was just north of me but it didn’t make it here.
It was a very bone-chilling day today with the cold rain that came in with the drop in temperature. I made some taco soup and cornbread to warm up the house and me.

    1. Oh, Taco Soup; YUM.
Every Friday our favorite family restaurant serves taco soup(everyday is a different kind......free sample of soup with your meal) Been trying to duplicate their soup (I've come pretty close I think) but all I have seen all include vegetables.
Their soup is a nice creamy cheese soup with just a little kick to it and is served with just a few of the Tri-Colored Tortilla strips sprinkled on top. It's Delicious.

I think by days end; we got close to 4 inches of snow

    2. Texas Rose - It was bone chilling cold wasn't it? We went out on the balcony a few time looking for snow flurries (saw some sleet) and the cold just went right through you. Stay warm and enjoy the soup.

Colleen - Creamy taco soup? Um yeah!!! Count me in ha. 4 inches? Wow not too bad! Stay warm!

  6. The Hurricane was in England visiting a boyfriend and his family when she turned 18. They took her to a donkey refuge for her birthday. It was the perfect gift, and I still have the cute donkey postcard she mailed to me.

    Love,
    Janie

  7. You are lucky to have such sweet amusing neighbors all the time. Well, except for the hungry goats! Tomorrow, there is a chance we will have a mix of rain and snow. Hopefully, it will be all snow and just a bit.

    1. Yeah the goats were fun to look at but we'd rather have the donkeys (or cows). Much more relaxing, ha. They are a little loud at times but fun. Stay safe!

  8. Ah! Donkeys are SUCH an improvement over goats, IMHO. You got a great pic of the cross on the donkey closest to the fence. You know that story, right? After delivering Mary to the safety of the barn where Jesus was born, donkeys forever more wear proof of God's appreciation. The longer stripe down the length of their back is the vertical part of the cross, the stripe across their withers/shoulder is the horizontal part of the cross.

    1. Wow, thanks for that, I don't think I've ever heard that. Maybe bits and pieces over the years. I'll have to watch for that. Cool!!
