GOOD FOOD TIMES TWO AND HOBART SUNDAY

It's another weekend and now we're in December!  Yesterday was a yucky weather day, but today is a bit nicer.  My office is moving its location starting tomorrow, so it's been busy.

Time for some good food and some Hobart (as if you haven't had enough of him after his birthday post, ha).

Woke up this morning to a wonderful breakfast, eggs scrambled with hashbrowns and cheese and some bacon on the side.  Life is good and so is breakfast, ha!

And for some bonus food, Friday was December 1st and that meant...

...it was time to break open our Bonne Maman Advent sampler calendar and, well, sample!

2nd Man made a couple loaves of wheat bread and we tried the first two.  The first was "white nectarine-peach-lemon verbena".  It was good, the lemon verbena added wonderful note to the peachy flavor.  Might have to remember that for future canning.  The other was "strawberry-linden blossom". We really tasted mostly strawberry, not sure what linden blossom would taste like anyway, ha. But it was good.

And here is Hobart, photo taken mere minutes ago, he is on the table on his quilt sleeping the day away.  I was taking pictures and he woke up briefly and looked at me, as you can see above.  He was not happy that I had interrupted his slumber so I stopped.  Because...

  2. I just finished cat sitting my grand cat for 3 weeks. She is a very spoiled 14-year-old cat but I managed to spoil her more every time I keep her when my son travels. When I have my breakfast, she started jumping on the end of the table and watch me. I started dipping my finger in my coffee and she enjoyed licking it off. A different finger each time. When they picked her up Friday my daughter in law told me the next morning, she wanted to have some of her cup of coffee. I said we always had coffee together for the last 3 weeks, so I guess I got her hooked on a few sips of coffee after her breakfast.

    1. OMG that's so sweet!!! That kitty isn't spoiled either, ha. Of course, isn't that what grandparents are for, to spoiled grandkids, whether they be human or furry? :-)

  3. Breakfast items are good anytime of day especially served with whole wheat or just wheat bread. Whole grain wheat bread is only thing I buy; sometimes Honey wheat.
I haven't had white bread in I don't know how many years.
Years ago a Dr. once told me that wheat bread is much better for a person.
    Have a wonderful evening.
