HOME AND UPDATE

I knew you all might want to see sweet Hobart.  When I got home Sunday evening, he was glued to my side.  He would lay on the floor near me and then reach up with his foot hand and touch my leg.  Too cute.  I would say "I'm right here!".  Then he got up on the couch next to me and had to lay on my hand.  He got up on the bed for a bit in the night and laid next to my shoulder but he's never been a big nighttime bed sleeper so he stays for a while then leaves.  He shows up in the morning...for food, ha.

Cat therapy is the best therapy!

I'm feeling better, little by little.  I slept SO good the last two nights.  Usually from 9pm to 10am with only getting up a couple of times for bathroom breaks.  I get winded if I overdo but the doctor said that was OK, just know when your body tells you to slow down.  I can't drive for two weeks.  I'll start working from home next week.  My job is insurance, it's all online and customer service,  I won't be on the phone but doing stuff on the computer is fine.  The doctor said if you can lay in bed on the laptop, that's the perfect job. Does sound kind of nice, ha.  He also said no stairs for a while and no heavy lifting.

So much love from you all, friends, family, coworkers.  That's just as important.

Baby steps, I'll get there!

  1. Great that you are home, and always nice to sleep in one's own bed.
The way it sounds, Hobart really missed you. Having a pet to come home to is great therapy for sure along with a partner (loved one)as well.
    Missed by all.
Do take care and have a great day and enjoy your evening. Get plenty of R&R

  2. Glad you are home and recovering. Take it slow. I'm sure 2nd Man and Hobart are happy you are back home and will both look after you in their own way.

  3. Try not to overtax yourself slow and steady takes the prize. This has been a warning and if you take advice you will be OK. My father in law had exactly the same operation as you at 44 and lived an active life till his mid 80s.Nice to hear from second man even if not in the best circumstances.

  4. Your bed, your home, your cat is the best medicine ever! When I was hit by that SUV, Dr wanted me to go into a Nursing Home for REHAB! I said NO, while thinking "You really don't now me" L shoulder, R unharmed and I'm in a powerchair.. Lucy, a tiny colorpoint stayed behind my back, L side and PURRED... I healed, full range of motion..

  5. I really hate being in the hospital. All the busyness around, lights, and not my bed. Take care of yourself.

Sweet Hobart, purring 'til his heart is content, by your side.

  14. Glad to know your cat is taking care of you so well. My daughter adopted two cats recently from a rescue home. One is epileptic and the other has anxiety problems and both need twice daily medication...not always easy with cats. When she was ill herself with a bad reaction to covid jab those two cats sensed that she needed the love now and in their own way gave it. My point is that it's a two way street and now it's your turn to be "spoiled". Take care and glad you are home and happy. Megan in Wales.

  15. Think of it as your second birth day because your life will be different going forward. Not better or worse, just different. And I want to reiterate what others have said to Second Man - take care of yourself too. Caregiving is a big job. Luckily, you have Hobart for backup! Sending best wishes to you all. And Merry Christmas!
