WHATABURGER NUTCRACKER 2023

Haven't posted much about Christmas decor, because, well, other matters came up, ha.  Took these pics yesterday of part of what we did (more to come).

Whataburger nutcracker 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023

Just a few days before 'the event', we got our newest member to our Whataburger Nutcracker family.

Glad I did because now they are sold out!

Whataburger is an institution here and a few years ago they came out with their first one in 2019.  Then in 2020, they didn't have one due to pandemic and shipping issues.  In 2021, they had one and again last year for 2022 and now this year for 2023 (he's the one in the foreground).

They are whimsical and oh so Texas so they have become our tradition.  We're sure at some point they'll stop making them but hey, we'll keep going until they don't.  We still have room for a few more, ha.

Though, alas, I won't be indulging anytime soon...

Whataburger

Ahh...the memories.

  1. 2nd Man will be able to come up with a tasty substitute burger 🍔 for you! Just don't ingest some of that offensive stuff pretending to be beef and bleeding beet juice! Ugh!
    Enjoy your day!!

  2. When we entered our 70s, we decided that many medically healthy diets can allw an occasional departure. Have a Whatburger every several months and your heart will be none the wiser!

    Hugs!

  3. I love the nutcrackers. Enjoy them and if 2nd man is up to experimenting Beyond Beef turns into a pretty decent burger with a good deal less saturated fat. Not a Whataburger, but a decent alternative.

  4. All in moderation.
Love the nutcrackers and glad that you where able to get this years before they ran out of stock. Love their onion rings.
Sometimes on hubby's way home from work he will stop and get a large order of rings along with a chocolate shake.

Raining here today. Started early this morning and will continue for the rest of the day and into the evening hours. More in forecast for the next 3-4 days.
    Have an enjoyable evening

  5. Maybe you do not have to give them up forever, just eat in moderation. I want two nutcrackers, large ones for the porch. I have one tiny one that must have been on sale after Christmas. Or maybe a cadre of small ones like yours. I had one Whataburger just because I had never had one. It was good, but way too expensive. Maybe I will have another one next year.

    1. Yes, we don't want to make ourselves miss out on things we enjoy. As you and others have said, moderation is key. They aren't cheap, relative to other fast food burgers but dang they are so good, ha.

  7. Wow, I haven't had a Whataburger in years. I recall they made the best hamburgers. Very cool about the nutcracker series! Cute, too.

  8. I’m curious about how they told you to moderate your diet. Was your cholesterol super high.,

    1. Well I haven't had my followup yet (next week) but they tell you to eat 'heart healthy' and give you some flyers then we were off to Google. But good news, no diabetes. Also, blood pressure was and is staying in normal range. My cholesterol was on the upper end of the range they like to see, so they said to just get it down some. I'll know more next week but for the last two weeks we have eaten super heart healthy, so we'll see how the numbers change. Stay tuned! :-)

  9. I love those Nutcrackers. I have one...but I'm mostly into collection other German Christmas items like Mueller spinning Christmas pyramids. I have three full size and about 4 small ones. Blows my mind there handmade and some so intricate. But they make Christmas for me.

  10. I love your collection of Whataburger nutcrackers!
I was told by a doctor that only 10%-20% of cholesterol comes from food choices - that the rest depends on one’s heredity.

    1. Yep, I've been reading up on all this and it does seem genetics play the bigger role in our heart health. But I'll do what I can to help on the diet side, ha. Aren't the nutcrackers cute? We love them. #WeLoveTexas. :-)
