THE LITTLE THINGS

This time of year it's usually fun stuff coming in the mail and behold...

...my new pill organizer and pill cutter!  OK so not exactly the stuff of Christmas gift legend, ha.  Two of the pills I have to take need to be cut in half and I'll be honest, this does make it easier.  This one has AM and PM since my pills are divided like that and it helps me stay organized.  They have so many styles and colors, but I kept it simple, one week, day and night.   Bonus points, it kind of matches my computer and phone, ha.

I noticed the last couple of days I've almost forgotten to take pills, just because it's not something that's been a part of my normal routine, but now it will be. I even set up a reminder on my iPhone health app to take them, but this definitely makes it easier.

Well I made it almost 60 years without needing a pill organizer, ha, but here we are.  It's the little things in life, right? 😁

  1. Happy to learn you are recovering nicely, and now settling into your new daily routine.
I used a pill organizer for vitamins, but sadly nowadays it's full of prescriptions
Such is the price for growing old.
Wishing you and second man, a Merry Christmas filled with love and happiness.
    Hugs,
    Jo

  2. Luckily, I only have 3 prescriptions (1 is only when needed), and 14 various vitamins and supplements that I take every day! I've done it for years ... so it's a set routine for me!
I believe you will be mindful of taking your meds until your doctor tells you can quit any of them. You may have to take them for the rest of your life! The miracle of drugs!
I hope you have a good day!!

  3. Ah yes, the pill container, the price we pay for a long life! All things considered tho, not too high a price. Good idea to have a pill alarm set on your phone. You’re doing fine.

  5. I have a thingy, a "Didit" that glues on the bottle top.. and 2 alarm clocks set an hour apart ,in case I miss the first one... I tried the pill organizer, but I kept fumbling it and having to chase pills while the cat was batting them around the floor..

  7. It was a total shock to my system when I had to take a pill every day. Of course, menopause in itself was a shock. Then, when the thyroid failed, that meant another pill. I was devastated to need two pills! Now, I have it all in a tiny train case.

I am a failure at pill organizers. The top latch fails or something. Yours looks like you press down to get the pill. Maybe that is what I need.

My friend fills up a week organizer x 4. Uses them all and fills them up for another month. That did not work either.
Pill taking is an adventure. At least I am here to enjoy living.

  8. When I worked in the emergency room it was not uncommon for mostly elderly people to have their numerous pills all loose in one bag. It took ages while they picked through them saying things like "this is my water pill, this one for my knees....I don't take this one anymore, I forget what this one is for". Fortunately we have a handy dandy resource with descriptions of all pills with pictures. You would think I would be extremely organised with my own pills but I'm not.

  11. Having a pill organizer is a necessary thing now to stay alive - but it sure beats the alternative. I’m very glad you’re recovering.

  12. So good to hear that you are coming along nicely considering everything that you had gone through.
Complete recovery all starts with taking and doing them 'baby steps' and following Dr.'s orders, which I'm sure you are doing. You are in good hands with 2nd Man around and of course King Hobart keeping you company.
Those pill containers sure do come in handy when needed.
Take care; enjoy your day and get lots of that R&R.
