As this posts, it's a day of 'beat the rain' at the farm. I didn't mow last weekend because it was "bee weekend" and I was working in the garden.
This weekend it definitely needs it because it's grown for a couple of weeks and is getting tall.
The urgency is that our weather forecast calls for heavy rain starting tonight (possibly this afternoon) and then staying heavy tomorrow and Monday and Tuesday and even into Wednesday. That would mean next weekend will be far too wet to mow.
I have to check the new bees as well.
And put some more compost and soil in the raised beds.
So fingers crossed today!
Updates later!
Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful (and drier) start!
Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! A bit of drama though, more on that tomorrow.
Deletegood luck! i don't know if we are ever getting rain again. it's been in the upper 70's with nonstop sun. i have my seedling sitting outside today.
ReplyDeleteJust saw tonight we could have 8" by the time it's over. I'll send some your direction!
DeleteI hope your day went well. And envy the rain. We got some last night. Incontinent pigeon rain. Splat, splat and it was gone.
ReplyDeleteNOW that made me laugh out loud!!
Delete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteGood to hear your getting that grass all done before the heavy rain.
Were expecting heavy rain as well, and half of our grass is cut. The other half will have to wait. We also need to layout some weed and feed.
Yes, I managed to get it all done. And some garden planting, then it rained. And will for the next several days. Saw y'all had some funnel clouds, 'tis the season as they say. Stay safe!!
DeleteHope you got your grass mowed before the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe rain will be good for all your growing plants. With the rain we got a few days ago, my garden has really had a growth spurt. As my Grandma always said, "Rain is fertilizer from heaven."
Amen to your Grandma!!! Yep, got finished, and just saw the forecast for the next few days, yikes!!!
Deletethat is such a beautiful photo,, I hope the rain doesn't cause any problems,,
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you for that. None so far but we'll have to see what the next few days bring.
