Recently, we were looking online for photos of ideas for garden gates. Our gate is starting to wear out a bit, and I was thinking of something different. THEN I found this! We LOVE this idea, we have the two posts (and with a fence on each side) and this would just be SO awesome as the entrance to our garden. Our opening is 36" wide which I would hope we could find in an old door size that would work. We even love the missing glass in the upper section.
And of course, it just HAS to be red!
Be inspired!
Check with Habitat for Humanity if you have one in your area. They have doors of all sizes, plus the proceeds go to building homes for the more unfortunate.
ReplyDeleteAlso, check out Antique places. I'm always seeing old antique doors at our local Antique / Craft Mall. Sometimes them 'out of the way' places you can find great, usable stuff.
Check on Craig's listings or advertise for one.
Best of luck to you in finding one. If nothing else, make you can find 2 'skinny' doors and then you will have a French door entrance :}
Colleen is right. Habitat ALWAYS has doors!
DeleteAwesome, I will look into that. I actually just measured today for it today. French doors would be kinda cool too. Thank you both!!!
DeleteOk I love the inspiration ideas you find to share but this one is ten kinds of love! I'm so doing this! Brianna

DeleteThank you anon! That's a great idea to have them hanging there. And Tonya, that is a great idea huh?
DeleteYou could install chicken wire in the "window frame" and uses it to hang a wreath, sign or even garden hand tools. Love the idea!
ReplyDeleteOOH! Chicken wire is great too! I like that, it could have double use. Thanks!!!
