OFF TO CHECK ON THE FARM

Off to the other side of town to check on things.  Should be fine, 2nd Family has checked the outside but we need to look inside, make sure no water got in or roof leaks in the house or the barn and shed.

Also check the fruit trees and garden, to see how they handled the massive amount of rain.

There are still a couple of flooded roads around the farm, but they are the roads that can flood in a normal heavy rain. And it's not rushing water flooding, just high water.

On the way back, we also have one more place to check on, the last storage unit we have.  It is on the edge (several blocks?) of one of the neighborhoods that is flooded near the reservoir.

I want to stop and get some photos of high water spots along the way.  At least we have sunshine!

Fingers crossed all is well...

  1. I don't know how it is elsewhere, but here in the South, people seem to build storage units on areas lower than the roads, often boggy areas. However, the two storage facilities that have climate-controlled units are well above the roads.

We had clouds all week until the sunshine broke through yesterday which gave everyone a boost. I hope you find everything safe and dry.

  2. Glad to hear you two can at least navigate around the waters. A lot of help has gone your way. Stay safe. Keep us updated on your wellbeing and safely. Take care. Margie from Arkansas.

  3. Hope your storage shed is dry. What a complete nightmare. I bet the farm is fine. Wonder if the winds were strong there?

  4. Hi there! I stumbled on your blog by accident about the same time your weather turned ugly, and I've been reading you posts with great interest. I do not have any family or friends in the effected area, and I don't find the television or internet 'news' to be very reliable about the reality 'on the ground.' It's been very informative to experience this event through your eyes; thank you for recording it! I wish you all my best, and hope you find your storage unit safe and dry.
