A DAY OFF WORK MEANS WORK AT THE FARM

Took a vacation day today, since it's been dry and hot all week.  The yard should be nice and dry and I'll need these two days since we are going to be at a Father's Day party (2nd Man's brother) on Sunday.

I have a two fold plan of attack:

Mowing (again) today, which will most likely be an all day event (again) and then tomorrow I will finish edging and work in the garden area and hopefully get some things planted as well.

Here's a good example of both.  This is the area looking from the front porch steps on the side toward "Barnabas", the party tree.  This needs to be mowed AND edged.

I'll use this angle for an 'after' photo tonight for an update.

Until then, here is a pic of one of our ladies doing her job.  Love seeing bees all over our property, it makes us smile.

TGIF!  Have a great day!

  1. We started mowing yesterday; trim and weed eating but then it got way too hot so had to quit but hubby is finishing up with the rider now.
Don't over heat and drink plenty of water and take breaks in between.
Stay cool if that is at possible
Love your close up shot of your bee photo

  2. Be careful in this heat! Take some porch-and-iced-tea breaks. It’s going to look great after all your work.

  3. Ah the joys of dual home ownership! I am getting things finished at home so I can go work at the lake place. I mistakenly thought having a place at the lake meant fun and relaxation. Stupid me!

  6. Have a great day. And take some time just to savour the joy. All work and no play...
