Thank you all for the Christmas wishes of the last few days. We wish you all nothing but the best, hope you have a wonderful Christmas, have some great time with family and friends and of course, eat lots of wonderful food.
Speaking of, last night was Christmas Eve tamales, a tradition we have, and today we're doing a ham dinner with lots of sides.
Pics to follow!
Oh, and we do have a question we ask occasionally around the holidays:
When do you open presents?
Christmas Eve?
Christmas Morning?
Other?
Wishing you both a very happy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe food traditions are great fun, aren't they? We have pepperoni bread for our Christmas Eve, homemade doughnuts and Scotch eggs for Christmas breakfast, and this year our own brined pork roast for dinner.
We open presents Christmas morning! Just the two of us so we can get it done before critter chores. :)
Do you know I've never had a Scotch egg? I SO need to try that. And we LOVE pork roast (never thought of brining one though that is a great idea). Thanks for sharing!!!
DeleteMerry Christmas! We open with my son and his family on Christmas Eve, my ten year old and I on Christmas morning and with my parents and siblings on Christmas day in the afternoon. Catherine in south MS
ReplyDeleteNow that's a nice way of spreading it all out, ha . Thanks!!!
Deletexmess morning. spouse and I just returned from our fave indian restaurant; NAMASTE!
ReplyDeleteYum, Indian food, love it!!! Namaste back at ya!!!
DeleteMerry Christmas from Maryland.
ReplyDeleteWe open gifts on Christmas mornings most of the time. We have been known to do one or all the night before. Not this year though. Off to my youngest sister's home for dinner this evening.
Thanks for sharing that, and hope you had a wonderful time.
DeleteA very happy Christmas to you.
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas tradition is a huge bowl of fruit salad - often all I can face at the hottest time of the year. Presents are opened on Christmas morning.
LOL, we forget how hot it is in other parts of the world. It's crazy to think of Santa and the reindeer in the heat, ha. I just think of Christmas as cold and snowing. Of course, we broke a record high here on Christmas Day (81!) so......... ;-P
DeleteI love the vintage Christmas card!
ReplyDeleteSounds like some really good food at your house.
As for gift-opening, when I was a kid we always opened gifts on Christmas Eve.
love the old cards, I used to have a great collection, but they were all stolen in an apartment breaking back in the 90's, ugh. Growing up, we were always Christmas Eve, 2nd Man was more Christmas morning, so we've kind of done both over the years.
Deletenever ever until xmas morning. have a wonderful xmas!!!
ReplyDeleteNever EVER? Not even a small one or two? LOL! Thank you for sharing! Merry xmas to you!
DeleteChristmas morning! Today, was broccoli soup and preparing a meal for when friend comes tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for morning! Broccoli soup, yum!!!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you and your loved one. Christmas Eve we go to Church. This is followed by an Italian style "spuntino" consisting of breads, cold cuts, cheeses and a shrimp. Ring . The next morning it's freshly home made cinnamon buns, piping coffee while we open our gifts.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great tradition. Love that food. Cinnamon buns sound wonderful on Christmas morning. Thanks for sharing your traditions!!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you and 2nd man and to each and everyone.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone had a wonderful day
Thank you sweet Colleen!!! Wonderful day to you too!!
DeleteMerry Christmas. We open presents on Christmas afternoon, after our Christmas meal and after the Queen's speech on TV.
ReplyDeletexx
Now that's neat that it's tied to the Queen's speech. I hope she is doing better, heard she and Prince Phillip were very sick. XO to you!!!
DeletePrince Philip, my apologies for the misspell! ;-)
