SUNDAY UPDATE

Good day on the zen machine!

The weather was cool(ish) and we had low humidity, first small (very small) tasted of Fall.  Of course, the nice weather brought out all sorts of creatures, including this snake.  It was a small grass snake I believe.  I had watered a plant and it slithered around in the puddles.

2nd Family told us we had 3 inches of rain last week but the ground just soaked it up like a sponge.  There was only one spot with standing water.  The grass was green and tall and the ground was dry with no mud so that was good.  I got everything mowed and edged for the first time in weeks.  It looks SO much better when it's done, such a sense of relief, not to mention it just looks better.

Chicken Tikka Masala
2nd Man didn't go out to the farm this weekend as he had too much to do in town, but when I came home this was waiting for me.  It was wonderful.  Diced up chicken, sautéed in a pan and them simmered in Tikka Masala sauce and served over Basmati rice.  Yum!

So what did YOU do this weekend?

Yes, I think Fall is coming here finally. It was 91 yesterday but is dropping to the low 60's for the first few days this week and we will be getting frost one night. Nice little snake - you guys sure do have a lot of snakes there in Texas. Big ones, too - look at this picture - https://www.facebook.com/MillerForTexas/photos/a.1446230015599165.1073741829.1427314137490753/1744071615815002/?type=1&fref=nf&pnref=story Absolutely creepy!

Everything seems happier with cooler weather and the right amount of moisture. :)

That just might be the owner of that shedded snake skin you had found in the house.
Did you happen to ask to see if it belonged to him / her? :}
I must say; I am so very grateful that I don't see them in my yard.

I'm glad you had fun at the snake farm :-)
I did a "Day of" Doctor Who marathon; just needed to not think for a few hours. It was nice.

Glad you were able to get mowed and edged. A weekend of football and a week of working at Mom's house pretty much wiped me out. I need to get out in the yard and work, but am not feeling it. I should be since the day is drop dead gorgeous and not too hot, but all I want to do is sit on the porch, rock, read and enjoy some coffee.

Wasn’t it an absolutely gorgeous weekend?! You got a lot done.
Then you got to come home to an absolutely gorgeous supper! 2nd Man is amazing!
I planted a few more things in my vegetable garden and cleaned out another space to add onto it. It was sooo nice being outside with the cooler weather and the low humidity!
