Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!
This is one of those odd things. I've always thought it would be cool to have something like this tucked away in a corner. An outhouse. Non functioning of course but just the look of it like it's old and has been there for years, would be fun to have as a focal point.
Of course 2nd Man said "um, it looks like a place for creatures to live..."

It's rather cute in a way, but have to agree with 2nd Man; it's a good place for snakes along with other critters to hide in but I do like the picture you have shown with the plants and all the other rustic looking items around it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely! But yeah, I think I'm beyond using a functional outhouse lol!
ReplyDeleteit looks like a place that snakes would love.
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents had a functioning one. Of course, when I was very little, they also used a functioning wood stove to heat their house. Damn, am I old.
ReplyDeleteI still have one here on the farm. It's a four seater, very fancy! I store stuff in it but the end is nigh as it has started to fall apart.
ReplyDeleteCute but I agree with 2nd man!
ReplyDeleteAnimals will take up residence anywhere. Why not make it a place to store tools farther from the house for convenience. I love it. I really want one.
ReplyDeleteI had an outhouse built at my old house. The house originally had one in 1922. I used it as a garden shed. People would stop in their tracks when first seeing it.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of tool storage in a corner of the yard. OTOH, my inner prankster says to put a fake Yeti peeking out the door. Too tacky? Or somehow rig up a something that lets out a serious growl if someone tries to open the door.
