FIRST TRIP TO THE FARM OF 2025

As this posts, I'm off to the farmland (ha) to do some yard work before construction starts.

Tomorrow, we are supposed to have severe storms, sigh, then next week is our first big freeze (there are even murmurings of "wintry precipitation!").  We also have a big day coming up next week, hopefully weather permitting, more on that in an upcoming post.

The good thing is that it has been pretty much rain free since last week so I should be able to mow.  We shall see how it goes.  Today is gorgeous weather, clear skies and cool temps with no humidity.

Hope your weekend is off to a good start!

  1. January is the coldest and worse month for Texas. Bad weather is on it's way.
    Stay safe and stay warm
Enjoy your day and have a Great weekend.

    1. Yep, we have our fingers crossed for the state. So far, our weather has been just rainy with a little thunder and is now moving on out. Cole weather coming. Be safe and sending thoughts to you both.

  3. Hoping all went well with mowing at the Farm today. Especially with the cold weather coming.
I need to bring in some firewood tomorrow. And also pick my kumquats. They could use another week or two on the tree but I know from experience they will freeze on the tree. I still have dozens of green figs on the tree from the fall crop. They are way too green to pick, so sadly they will be lost. Gotta pick the broccoli and cauliflower heads also.
I really don’t like cold weather.

    1. We don't like cold either. I like the snuggling under a blanket and having hearty and warm foods and drinks but all the rest of it is no fun. Hoping all stays on the mild end of a freeze. Stay warm and safe!

  4. We will have a windy day, then freezing days, then a rain, maybe a tornado and hail. That is all the bad weather I want this winter. Your yard should be fit to mow with all the dry weather.
