GOOD FOOD AND HOBART STORMY COLD SUNDAY

A stormy day is coming today and when the storms are done, the temps are going to plummet to freezing.

Yesterday was gorgeous though.  A bit overcast, but cool and nice.  I went out to the farm and got some stuff done (more on that tomorrow) and when I came back into town, 2nd Man had made us a great meal.

As almost always, we had a wonderful salad to start.

For the main course it is chickpea pasta (we LOVE this stuff, full of protein and super heart healthy) with shrimp, tomatoes, and shallots sautéed with a splash of sparkling rose (left over from our NYE) and a little pasta water to make the sauce.  Topped with some fresh basil, it was wonderful!

Hobart is getting prepared for the cold weather by nesting in one of his blankets.  Because...

  1. The salad looks wonderful. I think that is the best picture ever of Hobart. It is very artistic. He looks miffed.

    1. Thanks, it was good. And yeah, we thought the picture came out well for a spur of the moment (plus we know everyone likes to see him with his eyes open, ha). He always has the look, we always say "why so serious?". LOL!

    1. Yes, it's so good and this is so simple, kind of just sauntering some onions, adding some tomatoes and letting them break down, then adding a little red pepper, I think maybe some garlic and the shrimp, then add the cooked pasta and use a little pasta water as needed to make it the consitency you like. We use a brand called "Banza chickpea pasta". :-)

  3. Now that is one salad that I can have all to myself. (hubby doesn't like shrimp) He can have his tuna casserole, and me, my shrimp and pasta salad.
    At the moment (3:40am) it's 23 deg.
You both have a great day. Stay warm and stay safe

  4. What a great meal to come home to! Chick pea pasta - I need to look for that.
I like Hobart’s prep for cold weather!
My cold weather prep took 4 hours of picking vegetables and covering up things. I still have tomatoes and peppers producing, so I’m hoping covering them will save them. Also covered up several more things.
