On this first day Spring, I thought I'd share this quote. When I get the garden up and running this season, I'd love to put this on a sign somewhere:
"Gardening is one part science,
one part art,
and one part Peace Corps..."

More later this afternoon/evening!
(and 2nd Man will log on and reply to your birthday wishes)
That is so true about gardening.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Isn't it?? Thanks!!
DeleteGreat quote - and very true!
ReplyDeleteAfter a week of the flu, I am so far behind on my garden prep and planting - I could really use that Peace Corps part!
I hope you are feeling better now!!! The peace corp is probably the most important part, ha.
Delete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteGreat quote, this should go in your garden :-)
Love it!!!
Thanks, I love it. I should print it on a wooden sign or something.
DeleteGardens bring peace to me for sure...but only other peoples gardens....I have no patience for it myself.
ReplyDeleteHa, I understand. I am sometimes that way in mid august around here, ha.
DeleteI laughed hard at Delores' comment. It made me think of myself yesterday, preparing beds in the rain for my winter harvest with back screaming. While I wouldn't give up my garden I do sometimes daydream about having a gardener on the books, just to do all the hard manual stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh, trust me, I can relate! The weeds in the garden are getting so out of control, we're thinking of paying for a some extra help. I just need a headstart. But wouldn't an on call gardener be awesome? Pick up the phone "yeah, i'm gonna need the beds weeded, thanks". or "yeah, hi, I'm going to need you till the soil and add compost", LOL!
DeleteHow true it is. My garden is fertilised with blood, sweat and tears. All mine. And rather a lot more of all three is required.
ReplyDeleteOh, blood sweat and tears as fertilizer, that's a great point. That would make a great quote too!! Thanks!!
DeleteAnd sometimes a lot of luck!
ReplyDeleteLOTS of luck much of the time huh? Thanks!
