THE GOATS ARE BACK

So when I was at the farm, I noticed the goats again.
Here is a picture from farther away.

I wasn't sure if they were on our side or their side, but once I walked over...

...they were on their side.  Here they are as I got closer, and put my camera over the fence.  They were a bit camera shy and walked away to watch me from a distance.

Then this one came over to look a bit closer...

...and then these two just stared at me...

Four Goats
...until they were joined by the other two.  So now we know, I see four goats on the other side of the fence.  I couldn't tell if they were just curious to see me or were plotting their next incursion onto our side of the property...

Goats seem to be kind of crafty and devious...

  1. Cute but can do a lot of damage and eating everything in site.
    Our ex-neighbor had a goat and was constantly jumping their fence of which ate my Meyer Lemon, knocked down our bird feeder and ate the seed, ate some of my roses, etc., etc., etc.
    The sheriff was called out several times and did warn the neighbor, plus gave the neighbor a ticket.
    I don't mind neighbors having animals providing they see to it that their animals stay in their own yard and be taken care of the way they should. Their goat was constantly getting out cause it was looking for food. It wasn't getting fed on it's own property.
    Great photos by the way 1st Man. I wouldn't mind having a set of them horns that goat is modeling. They are awesome.

  2. Sadly, my daughter had to rehome her goats, she just couldn't keep them contained. Despite better fencing, they always seemed to find their way onto the neighbors property, and eat everything in sight.
    The donkeys run a close second to also becoming escape artists.

  6. I must say; they do provide good manure for garden beds; No composting needed. Just mix in with your regular garden soil and you're ready to plant which makes for very good fertilizer for flowers or veggie beds :}

  7. Just wanted to say that the 2 dark animals are not goats but sheep, Barbados Blackbelly. The 2 white ones are Boer goats. Just thought you'd like to know!
