OK, this made us laugh...
Candy Corn clearance |
Was at the store and saw the clearance section. It was filled with leftover Candy Corn!
It was every variety and package style and brand, on clearance. I think they were about 50 cents each or less but I'm not sure if they sold any even at that price. I guess if you DO like it, that would have been a bargain too good to pass up. Otherwise, it just goes down as bad Halloween candy.
Yesterday, 2nd Family texted and said it was SNOWING at the farm!
Stock animation NOT actual footage, LOL |
The ambient air temperature was in the upper 30's so nothing stuck. Here in town there were flurries all over as well. "J" said it was quite the sight to see out there. It is now the earliest "snow" ever recorded in Houston's history. Not sure how this portends for the rest of our Fall and upcoming Winter.
Last night it got to 30. We hope the farm is OK. I didn't really prep the house for freezing but from what I've read, pipes are OK in these short bursts of freezing temps. I did cover the citrus on the porch so we'll have to see how it all makes it.
This Sunday it's supposed to be 70 degrees!!
We didn't receive no snow flurries but got the cold, windy and damp weather here. At the moment it's 28 deg and down to 28 deg tonight. Got down to 24 last night. A high of 46 for today and up in the 60's for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThese temperatures are just no normal for this time of year. Normally it's in the low 70's - upper 60's.
Yep, snow flurries. Earliest ever recorded in Houston history. We even had snow before BOSTON according to the weather channel. Crazy. Stay warm!!
Deletewow...you have snow and i didn't get any yet. the weather these days is crazy!
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy. But of course some say nothing is wrong, nothing to see. Yeah sure, whatever. Hope you get your snow, it can stay away from here.
DeleteI must admit I DO like candy corn...but not ALL THAT much! I bought one bag and that's good enough for me.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I won't say that I hate it either. I'll eat a few pieces but only as a last resort, ha.
Delete50 cent candy corn is still 50 cents more than I am willing to pay for it!
ReplyDeleteThis weather is nuts. I am freezing and it should be in the low to mid 60's here. Son2 has an outdoor wedding planned for this weekend. We will see.
LOL that's too funny!! I hope your outdoor wedding (I was late replying to this) went off ok!!
DeleteI'm rather fond of candy corn. Of course, I mix it with peanuts, so it's basically a Payday. My brother lived in Texas for almost a decade. I think it only snowed (flurried) a few times. It's supposed to start snowing here (Illinois)in the next few hours, and just for the fun of it, we may get some freezing rain. Oh, joy!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, wait, what? I LOVE Payday bars. If I eat candy corn and peanuts it tastes the same? I am so going to try that. Yeah, in these parts of Texas, flurries are about all we get. Though last year it did stick for most of a day.
DeleteCandy corn on sale - no thanks at any price. Now if that was some dark chocolate!
ReplyDeleteWow, you had some snow flurries! But I’m not ready for this cold weather yet.
Oh, if it was ANY chocolate I'd have been all over that, ha. The cold weather was a surprise. Stay warm!
DeleteI woke up to the first snow of the season this morning here in northern Virginia
ReplyDeleteOur snows are never really "pretty". I'll be that in N Virginia it's stunning when it first snows. Stay warm and safe!
