NEW YEAR NEW WEEKEND

Well so far, 2021 doesn't seem any different than 2020 but hey, it's early.  We have to have hope.

We had champagne.  It's about the only time of year we have champagne.  We have wine every month or two so that makes the champagne special as it should be, ha.

I promised a pizza pic, here it is on the plate.  No worries, we'll have more coming up on a post just about the Lodge pizza pan.  It was a simple pizza, tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni on a thin crust.  2nd Man makes a dough that he puts in the fridge for a slow rise which develops great flavors. He also divides it into four dough balls and we have them for pizza or calzone or even just a pizza bread he makes.  We'll have the recipe for that later too.

Today as this posts I'll be at the farm.  It'll be VERY wet, I think the final rainfall total was almost 6 inches.  Probably won't be much I can do in the wet yard but I can check the trees and water the items on the porch.  Tis the season that's the opposite of Summer...not much we can do because of cold and wet.

The first dry weekend I'll use the Zen Machine to mow some areas that we want to clear before Spring.

Hope your 2021 is off to a good start.

And remember...

...it's not over.  It will be this year but not yet.

Stay safe.

  2. Great looking pizza you have there. Great job 2nd man.

Sorry to say, but I do think that we are still in for the long haul in having to wear masks, etc. for all or most of 2021. I do think that it will be a few years before everything gets back to our 'normal'.

    1. Thanks! Yeah I think it'll be Summer before things start to ease up a bit but yeah, still a long haul after that.

    1. Also ... we will still be wearing the masks until ... and probably after ... everyone gets a shot! However, we will still have to be wary of the anti-vaxxers!

    2. Hi! Happy New Year!!! Yep, was chore day here too. Take advantage of the long weekend, ha. Oh yes, about the masks, we have already been hearing people say "oh so once I have the shot I can stop wearing the mask". And we've also hear a couple people in the family say they don't believe in getting the vaccine. The weird thing is they have gotten vaccines for other stuff (they aren't anti vaxxers in general) but somehow, this has become political and so vaccine = bad/governement control. Sigh.

  4. 2nd Man made a delicious looking pizza! Looking forward to his recipe.
Hoping your day at the Farm goes well and that it’s not too much water around the yard. I still have water standing in the low spots.
And yes, masking up is Love!

  5. How many inches of rain did the farm get for the year? We average 58.3 inches. I will wear my mask for a long time.

    1. I'm glad you will wear your mask. It's such an easy thing to do and is so helpful to ourselves and to others. Sigh. Final rain total was 5 3/4 inches according to 2nd Family's rain gauge. We're good on rain for awhile, ha. Have a safe and happy New Year!
